I agree that friendship is a form of endgame content. I like this game because I can play it with friends and farm/grind objectives and loot. I don't have to constantly be in a PVP game type. Bungie is set on having time released content that gives us the players a reason to keep playing and grinding for new guns to try out and gear to look cool in. Not only that but given that it will all eventually be on a cycle that rotates and adds to, there is no need to fear missing out if you can't play for a week or month. You can come back and continue grinding with your friends, then catch up no problem. I really enjoy the playing and feeling of this game and its enjoyment is further increased by being able to play it friends for the foreseeable future.

  • What is there to grind for exactly? Yeah, not jack shit. There are plenty of games that you can play with friends that don't throw that fairly basic feature around as legitimate content/endgame content. Imagine if blizzard was like "guys, we took all the loot out of Diablo 4, don't worry though you can still play with 3 other people so friendship should suffice as an excuse for out blatant laziness *laughs nervously cuz knows they're full of shit*." It may have been a joke I'm not sure, but it came off pretty condescending in tone (as much tone as text can have) and that was enough to piss people off it seems.

  • @fullmetal323 The grind is for the different gear and guns they seem set on releasing over time to prevent people from consuming, grinding, and powering through the content as fast as humanly possible. I don't play simple to grind though, I play video games because I enjoy them and I find this a very enjoyable game to play, especially with friends. We had a faction rally thing, that will come back again with some new gear, Iron banner should bring new gear with each time it comes, then there are the other events that are sure to come along in order to give players something else to grind for. It isn't perfect, but it something. Most people on here complaining have gotten more than their money's worth out of the game. As stated, I've likely put in close to 200 hours and will likely put in hundreds more with the DLC and additional content in which will be staggered between those releases. There are also the adventures, the mini missions which add game play and fun lore about the Destiny universe. Thus far I've only seen this community as toxic and sarcastic, looking for the negative. And on Deej....Deej has never come across as genuine....ever, that is just how he is. The way he talks about playing the game makes it seem like he doesn't play at all. Which I assume is some inside joke. I stand by saying the, "Friendship is the real endgame," joke is funny.

  • The game can be fun, but there usually has to be a goal in a game. Doing the same shit over and over again regardless of how fun it is, even with friends, gets old without some form of goal, and D2s shit got real old real fast. That's just my opinion. You can think whatever you like, but from someone who's played the Diablo games religiously, this game should be ashamed to even consider itself "loot" based.

  • I remember reading that the casual gamer only plays for about 6 or 7 hours a week. The main campaign is about 15ish hours long due to padding and doing a few public events. The people on these forums clearly aren't average. I have assume they too took a week off work to marathon this game or played 4 or more hours a day, then put in the 4+ hours on reset to achieve the milestones on each characters as soon as possible. That's not "normal." You can be disappointed with your 60 to 100 hours of game play you put in. This isn't No Man Sky though, this game had a clear goal, has things to collect, things to do, a social aspect, and all that Jazz. Just because you blasted to the end as fast as possible doesn't mean it is a bad game. Especially since they are still staggering out new content and events.... The staggering of content and events seems to be lost on many people in these forums. That is the additional thing to do, the additional grind. Yes the events are mostly the same, but it gives purpose. Why do COD players keep playing the same game mode for hours a day and months on end? How is this different? it has a greater variety and more room for expansion.

Comparing a PvP focused game with dynamic changes in combat because you're fighting the "most dangerous game" isn't the same as comparing PvE activities to continue playing the game. That's like asking why don't people just keep playing Skyrim forever if they enjoy it and theres those infinit little side quests and mods to keep them busy. The game isn't bad by any means, it's just not that great either. It's yet again, just like its prequel, painfully average. They removed randomized rolls why? They removed my ability to select my Crucible game mode why? They forced Sub-Classes into a dual archetyoe structure why? They removed choices, my choices on how I want to play the game... why? Also, I have a friend in the military who has a pretty substantial "real life" and he plays more than 7 hours a week, more like 20-30 depending. If you don't have on average like 3 hours a day to play video games you either really don't care that much about video games and it's a mindless or secondary hobby, or b, you got some real shit going down in your life.

  • Alright Casual Joe, not everyone pays $60 to play a game 40hrs in its lifetime. People expect good content with an actual EndGame. Pls take your positivity (stupidity) elsewhere.

  • Oh buddy, you are way off base. I've easily sunk close to 200 hours into the game and am far from casual. I think you guys are to critical and took a funny joke as an insult. The game is good. You wouldn't be complaining as much if you didn't enjoy it. Just sad done of you don't have friends to play with. You'd be amazed by how friendly random people are if you are a competent player. It is quite easy to make new playmate friends if you need them. ;)

  • I hate this game so much because it's no where near as fun as D1 year 2 was let alone year 3. Straight garbages when compared.
