For those guardians who want their voices heard on the matter of Bungie pulling the plug on level advantages in the Iron Banner.
If you want your vote to really count, feel free to like, that way Bungie will be more likely to see this.

Seems pointless like everyone says it just makes it a normal crucible match. Also the rewards offered are only a light level 500 even though when you go to salidin it say just above your light level, need to be getting better gear if you playing a harder mode
-
Because of this, stupid decision by Bungie, I have become uninterested in the banner. When I used to crave it's arrival! Once I received the desired weapons and armor, I quite playing in the tourney. Or I guess not even a tournament anymore. Maybe we should make football teams start the game with their point spread! Lol!

1 ReplyEdited by Dreadmortus Rex: 1/30/2018 8:39:26 PMwhy even have it anymore? It's just regular crucible. Kind of threw out the whole point. Destroyed anything special about this event. Lame
-
1 Replythis was the best part of IB, not sure why they would get rid of it. Light level is almost pointless now
-
It defeats the whole point of banner to have it disabled.
-
If a game mode is for competition and you take away the only quality that makes it competitive.. you caved.. the the individuals that suck won, because you let them. Probably because 50% of your users don't even understand your light levelin dynamics.. makes me sad all the way around how broken this game is considering how much time was spent on it. I achieved 300 light on 3 characters in 2 weeks.. but that is because I understood how -blam!-ed up your game works. And I know people that have not even reached 300 light since day 1 in destiny 2 because they didn't understand how to turn in gear and grind when you should.. Nothing is explained anymore. All lore went out the window. It's just a void. So I can see why level advantages are disabled.. it really doesn't matter anymore. Prestige gear literally doesn't mean anything anymore other than it simply looks cool.. kinda...
-
Seriously.. is that even a question? Besides the fact that all gear in destiny 2 is empty and nearly pointless because all armor pieces are no different from the last because only exotic gear has a intrinsic quality that makes each piece unique... so all armor is now ONLY a personal preference of how you like to look. And now you take away level advantages.. the only reason iron banner is good anymore is because the gear looks kinda cool. Has decent resistance sure.. Needless to say much more.. I had to stop myself from breaking my disc in half and throwing it away. I guess the world does bend to piss ants.

Probably the stupidest thing you could do was disable level advantage. get your shit together. whats the point of having Iron Banner if it is literally the same as Crucible?? might as well just take it out if you want to do dumb things like that.
-
It was the whole point of banner. To be a true challenge.
-
1 ReplyBesides getting different gear, what's the difference between iron Banner without light level enabled and the regular Crucible?
-
Not toooooo bothered ONLY if they bring out a new gamemode with it enabled for those End-game players.
-
That's a strange question. If a win relies more on gear than it does on skill, that means you can suck at PVP but you'll still win over better players just because you have better gear. Plus, it's boring to pick on the little people.

Level advantsge hasn't meant much in IB since around Oct or Nov of 2015. Since then, the vast majority of players have been at or near cap and being a few points shy doesn't amount to a disadvantage worth noting.
-
I don’t care, I always went in prepared so it didn’t bother me. But on or off it never really affected gameplay much I’ve seen low lights beat higher light levels before. It’ll give those try hard twitch streamers something to do (low light level challenges) rather than infest trials or “casual” Quickplay in their premade groups of 4.

5 RepliesNo light level barrier is great. Light is not an achievement just a barrier.
-
2 RepliesIt bothers me that they removed it and then didn't replace it with anything. They don't want it to be about level advantage, fine, but make it about something else then. A new match type... something. As of now it's just regular crucible with different rewards.
-
Edited by TheArtist: 10/10/2017 9:40:04 PMIt never really impacted play any way. ...and so many PVP players were looking to break the PVE side of the game in their race for level advantage on the PVP side. It just created problems, and never really added much to the game.

I have friends who are working on their second or third character and want the armor or just leveled gear for their character but my clan will be playing IB next week. It's good to know they can play with us and they won't feel like they're a drag. Though honestly level didn't really matter in D1's IB unless it was like a 40 point difference in light so it's not really different than before there's just no longer that stigma on lower power players.
-
Glad level is disabled; in Trials, too. End game and top tier PvP ought to be about skill, not how much time you have on your hands to play this game.
-
24 RepliesAnybody who wants Power advantages in a activity is selfish. Not everybody is No Lifers.
-
1 ReplyIt didn't make much of a difference anyway
-
Light levels didn't really matter in D1 unless it was 30 or so points difference. Even then, it was rare to see someone with their light level that low.
-
1 ReplyI'm imagining your poll results forming a middle finger to the person who took the light out of iron Banner

Edited by SquattingTurtle: 10/10/2017 3:06:42 AMIts more that i'm upset that they made event not special in any way except for the rewards. Having rewards tied to rank along with special bounties in the event as well as a slight differance in power made IB what it is. They could get rid of the light power, but if so they really just need to get rid of light from the entire game since theres just no point in trying to obtain a high light power. It not an indicator of anything any only prevents you from entering 2 activities if you are not high enough.
Don't care. Just give me something to shoot
This pretty much sums up what made D2 what it is today.
-
For those complaining that it's gone, level advantage BARELY mattered in D1 anyway.
-
Voted no. Even if they enable level advantage it wouldn't matter. In D1 it took a 10 Light Level difference to give a miniscule advantage.
