Middle school kids are morons. Their lives shouldn't be ruined because they made a stupid decision. The whole point of childhood is to learn from stupid decisions, sending kids to juvy puts them in an environment where they will make worse decisions in the future. The kids should be dealt with by their parents. Of course, if something like this were to happen again then it is obvious that the parents may be incapable.
