Two of the oldest orders of titans did not survive the Cabal invasion. The Stoneborn were tasked with manning the walls of the Last City as well as acting as peacekeepers amongst the inhabitants. They held their ground while the civilians evacuated. They continued to do so after losing their Light- giving their full measure and carrying out the calculus of their Codex until the end.
The mighty Sunbreaker order on Mercury was also wiped out in a Red Legion assault. Their leader Ouros, one of the mightiest titans known, seems to have perished as well. She is noted to have been the third, and final, leader of this mercenary order. Hunter scouts report that their outpost is now occupied by Red Legion forces.
A shame D2 is rated T for teen. The invasion was not given the gravitas it deserved. The complete obliteration of two proud titan orders deserves more than just a little flavor text.
Edit: it was pointed out the Firebreak Calculus is a tactic of the Firebreak order, not Stoneborn.

2 RepliesI was so hoping to see Ouros in Destiny 2. My Titans first exotic armor was the Hallowfire Heart and I was super excited....then I read the lore tab :( That said, glad to learn about Liu Feng, crafted the sunshot, sunbreakers/sunbracers, and held her own alongside Shaxx. My hammers burn in honor to that awesome Sunbreaker.

3 RepliesRest In Peace Ouros. You died as you lived: Off-screen.

1 ReplySource?

3 RepliesHow/where did you learn this? I want to read more about the game but I'm not sure where to look since they removed the grimoire

It's all about dragonborn now.

4 RepliesMost of the invasion came off as a joke imo. The "genius" tacticial Ghaal gets defeated by a straight up fight with "The Guardian" when he is noted for being clever and never doing just that, The Deus ex machina traveler intervention, the missed opportunity of collecting Golden age tech by utilizing lore and further deepening the story and letting Zavala show his tactical prowess on retaking the city. The fact it boiled down to a stronghold storming when the retaking of the city could have doubled the length of the game itself was a let down. Waste of an amazing created universe imo

You forgot that a few of the warlocks books got dusty and singed because of the invasion. Meanwhile us hunters lost most of our cloaks and our most prized possesions. The last word and thorn.

4 RepliesWish this type of story telling would be well represented in game. The main campaign was such a let down.

4 Repliesim sure we didnt just lose 2 Titan Orders we might have lost Warlack Circle's as well (is that correct naming for a order of warlocks?) and judging from the Craters in the city we lost a good chunk of People as well

3 RepliesEdited by Sancho: 10/7/2017 10:57:33 PMThe exotic chest Hallowfire Heart is my source for the Sunbreakers portion. For those that don't play a titan. https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/hallowfire-heart RIP. Thanks for the Sunshot hand cannon.

Fortress Field is the source for the Stoneborn. RIP. http://www.ishtar-collective.net/items/fortress-field-2?highlight=Stoneborn

1 ReplyThese little bits of lore are awesome spread throughout, just wish it was more out their ya know more emphasis paid to all those lost.
-
7 RepliesI believe you had a little mistake. The calculus you're referring to, the firebreak calculus, was primarily only used by the Firebreak order. They are entirely seperate from the Sunbreakers and the Stoneborn.

4 Replieswhere are you getting this lore?

3 RepliesYeah Bungie took the easy and boring (and probably cheap) way out with the ENTIRE Red War story. It's sad really, so much potential
