Calling all Vigilance Wing users..
So I just found out that Xur is selling Vigilance Wing and also heard many good things about it but what I wanna know is this..is it good for all activities? I’m mostly a pve player but sometimes I play pvp and I am actually interested on using this gun as something that I could use as a main weapon for all activities. Just an honest question from a curious guardian :/

Mainly a PvP gun that five bullet burst melts people at mid to close range but I prefer a gun with a little more stability for PVE so I just usually stick with my Three Graves over Vigilance. Also three graves has outlaw which is decently useful in PVE.

i haven't really played Crucible, so i can't comment. in PVE though.... i personally thought it was junk. yes, you get 5 rounds every trigger pull. but it feels like they nerfed those rounds to basically do the same damage overall as the normal 3 round pulse rifles. so in essence, you're just burning through ammo faster with no real advantage. I used it in about 5 strikes and all 5 i completely ran out of ammo for it multiple times each strike. it's basically a collection piece. buy it just to say you have it. then throw it in vault.

Perks sound useless. Am i missing something? The goal of the game is not to die right? Probably just a PVP thing is the focus of Vigil Wing. With that, i sorta understand why it has the perks it does.

Edited by leukoplast: 10/7/2017 2:53:52 AMWould be a pretty good overall gun if it wasn't for the perks which are only useful when playing in a fireteam. 5 round burst is pretty neat though, I got the gun from an exotic drop before xur sold it, but I almost never use it since I play solo. I'd much rather rock sunshot, that thing is crazy powerful, especially since enemies can chain the explosions to each other. Works insanely good for thralls and swarms of low health enemies. One shot kill and the chain reaction of explosions takes them all out at once. Tons of fun.

Perk = when a nearby ALLY dies recharges health and move faster. So not fireteam member. ALLY. So it is also usefull as a solo player in crucible/strikes/patroll.

Just buy it and find out if it works with your play style, and save your other 1000 shards for next week lol

It feels like a heavy weapon with the damage it puts out, just remember to aim at the chest since the recoil jerks upward. You'll dominate close and mid range in pve and you should pick weapons that will focus on those ranges as well. In PvP it's like a fusion rifle where your shot lingers and you can expose yourself a bit. It's best to hang back when team shooting

I find it works well if you're a warlock and have the exotic chest that lets you hover longer with crit hits in pve. Other than that I wasn't too impressed with it.

Buy it for the collection, then stick it in the vault and use any of the plethora of much better kinetic weapons available instead.

Unlike others, I have no problem with it in PvE. The 5 round burst will put a ton of hurt on enemies in a hurry. The exotic perks don't do much for you in PvE. In PvP it can turn a bad situation around real quick. To me anyway it is the best Pulse Rifle in the game. This is all IMHO. Buy it and try it. It is cheap enough.

Its a niche weapon kinda like the Jade Rabbit was takes a particular playstyle to be really solid but it can be super good in that said playstyle

It's really up to you man, depending what you're doing... In my case I'd use something else exotic for the raid, like merciless or the tracer thing :) Get it anyways, it's cheap and it looks cool, you'll have fun with it but it's something that I wouldn't take to endgame but that's just me, there's players who like it a lot and use it everywhere and they do pretty well It's really up to you

1 ReplyShit kicks like a rodeo bull even with counterbalance mods. Not a fan. Maybe some of you can hit sll 5 bullets to the head, but I cannot.

PVP it’s good at range. PVE not so good. I’ve got one on all 3 characters. Get bored using MIDA or Midnight then use Vigilance It pairs well with Uriel’s Gift. I never use it in PVE. Pulse rifles in PVE are pretty bad overall.

At 5 rounds per trigger pull, you go through that mag too fast for PvE.

It's ok, but not better than legendary alternatives. If the recoil wasn't as bad, the gun would utilize it's exotic perk much better.

2 RepliesI agree with the others. Buy and try. It's only a few legendary shards and they come back quickly. Cool perks. It's at least worth the shards just to have it.
