Y'all seem so surprised at what Deej said? He has been giving these sugar laced Bungie friendly responses since D1. They never make any sense to the average player.
The truth is if playing with other ppl was such a priority then where is the matchmaking? Putting aside the argument of how good or bad raid matchmaking would be how could deej say something like this (and has been) without better ways to MAKE friends. Let's not forget. All of D1 and continuing today we have to still utilize OUTSIDE resources to assemble teams. Which is ridiculous especially with him making that comment.
I have a saying. Whenever something happens or a decision is made that is questionable: "follow the money". They don't want matchmaking because their shit servers can't handle it. They would need DEDICATED servers to handle true matchmaking across the board. You know something almost every major AAA game uses. They see a cost savings there. 60 fps? Nope. Why? Cost savings. Reskinned everything? Why? Cost savings.
The reasons are obvious. We just keep eating it up like crack. I bought the game and play the game. While I don't think it's bad and still have fun I see the glaring problems. But hey. Maybe this buy a friend program will work.
