Empty worlds and solo public events
With millions of guardians in D2 I can't understand how it's possible to feel like the only person on the planet. I was doing flashpoint in the EDZ and did the first four solo until one person finally showed up.
I have a very good internet connection so I know that's not the problem.
Are we loosing that many players?

2 RepliesMy Clan roster went from 4-5 pages to 7-10 players. This is what I feared would happen when Bungie went to over simplify the game, take out all of the grind, and hand out all the loot for nothing. Everyone in my clan has earned everything and has no reason to play. Very sad.

5 RepliesI would really take that "millions of players" with a grain of salt. Everything that was good about Destiny 1 that took 3yrs for Bungie to figure out, they completely decided to say -blam!- it and get rid of. Where is the fun anymore? And everyone said Luke Smith was the shit. Or was that Luke Smith IS shit? Hmmm...

3 RepliesYeah, I've noticed that as well. Last week, completing the weekly Flashpoint on Io was torture since no one was around to help me, at the time I thought it was because Io was infested with Taken ( which everyone hates ) and has the 3 most annoying Public Events in the game. Then last night I went to the EDZ and aside from my first Public Event which had a good crowd, I had a lot of trouble finding anyone to help me, heck I didn't even see any other players after that Public Event. I had to solo the Servitor and Glimmer Drill public events. And it was just the EDZ, even the Tower felt emptier than it had been in previous weeks.

Just poor matchmaking. I found the best thing to do is to avoid fast travel and just use your sparrow.

1 ReplyThat's because people are getting bored doing the same thing every week, with no real goals or progression. People are either moving back to d1 or playing different games. Welcome to destiny's 2 end game, or lack of.

It's your Nat Type. Check it. If it's Nat Type 3 then that's your problem.

You will need to go to orbit to reset your instance, works 90% of the time. I usually try fast travelling to another afterwards but if no-one is there I go to orbit and back again. Works best if the public event is in the same area as the travel point, since travelling to another area has a complete different instance. If you have at least 1 person in the area other people seem to join you, if by yourself I haven't had anyone join. This is all in the EDZ haven't tried it on other planets.

2 RepliesIt's sad and I feel like I was suckered out of 100 bucks. Even worse, I paid for DLCs that will turn out to be held back content that should have been released with this "game", but this wasn't a game it was a DLC. Friends have asked me what I think, I tell them to save their money and I wish I could get a refund. #BungieKilledThePuppies

With Destiny 2 they have -blam!-ed all that up in one way. By releasing Destiny 2. They honestly had a good with d1 by the end of launch, why they didn't implement those lessons learnt in d2 really frustrates me. It again feels like we've been sold a incomplete experience. I for one am not going to spend my money with a company that completely ignores the pve section of its community and panders to the pvp crowd. This is what is mainly in my opinion ruining destiny. Anyway rant over. Have a good day scrubs 😉

If I s truly empty Reset console cache Old bug from D1. Empty maps and such. Clearing th console cache fixed it With Xbox it required unplugging power cord for a couple minutes. Not a normal shutdown or reboot.

Its kind of like in rise of iron you would go to archons forge and its empty so you need to leave and slowly walk all the way through the building and if its still empty do it again because if you go faster than the matchmaking you will end up with an empty world to yourself. So for your issue i recommend slowly walking across the edz on foot instead of fast travel or using your sparrow so that way the game has enough time to match you with people when you enter an area.

2 RepliesDestiny 2 is definitely losing players, but that's not the reason why the worlds are empty sometimes. There are different servers (or something similar) for every planet, and you're probably just being put on an empty server. I usually fix that by traveling to the location over and over until I eventually get placed in a server with more players.

Their servers can't handle populated worlds so they expect you to have fireteams to be social

2 RepliesYou should use the LFG Up for Anything fireteam finder if you’re looking for public event company. It’s as easy as the post you just made only the end result is different. (You end up playing public events with people) Good luck to you.

1 ReplyEdited by Quaddity: 10/5/2017 7:45:12 PMI don't understand Bungie stressing clans but you and several clanmates go to an event at the same time not in a fireteam you won't be put into the same instance and you might not see another person period. Makes no sense. I don't think it's the number of players it's Bungie using the same terrible PVE matchmaking they had in D1 for its events, forge, etc. which never improved from Y1 to Y3. It's still acceptable to Bungie for the player to have to fast travel, go to orbit, whatever and return to attempt to get matched with people.

I'm always on randomly spamming public events or whatever else I can feel free to inv if your on xbox and im ever on. I'd also try LFG or Find fireteam option to team up so you always have a group for the public events.

The game has lost a lot of players. On launch day I remember that the EDZ had like 6 or 8 people jumping around and new ones coming in as some left. Now am lucky to see someone else, be it I don't play the game anymore. I don't make it past the opening screen.

1 ReplyI had this issue too. The game will sometimes put you on your own planet, and no one will join it. I've found that returning to orbit, and landing in an area near a public event, will have a greater chance of putting you back in a world with other players.

I did the same, I'm not gonna say it is the player base abandoning the game(face it we all hope D2 isn't dying this quickly) but I also think it may be bungie "server" setup, cause I can reload into a fast travel point a couple of times and boom there's a group doing the public event. In any case if D2 is in it's death throes already there are other games coming out to garner the fan base Destiny is losing(and yeah I'll say it I'm kinda looking forward to CoD WW2, mainly for the campaign and to see sledgehammers spin on a zombie mode, man I miss World at wars zombie mode.)
