Look at this image. http://i37.tinypic.com/67sgt4.jpg
This is a screenshot from Google Earth. It shows what appears to be the ruins of a destroyed Halo ring floating in space near the star Eta Corvi in the Corvus constellation. I added a picture made by Bungie of the ruins of Alpha Halo so you can see how similar it looks.
You can see it for yourself if you open up Google Earth and follow the instructions in this video.

The image is copyright from 2007... don't know how to tell if it's been altered since then. It must be at least as old as July 2008, when that youtube video was made. The star is Eta Corvi, in the Corvus constellation. Corvus in Latin means Raven. It is suspected to have a system of rocky planets. I have no idea how this might relate to Halo if at all, but it seems like the kind of cryptic thing Bungie might do to draw people into a promotional ARG (alternate reality game).
Google engineers seem to be cool cats who might slip this into GE to help promote / give a shoutout to their favorite game.
What do you think?
Thanks to Fearless for spotting the video but his thread was kind of dumb :(
Posted by: AgentPaperCraft Nice find but its more than likely to be dust or camera glare.
That...and if that were Halo it would be thousands of Lightyears across, it encompasses thousands of stars. It's bigger than the one in Larry Niven's Ringworld.

I need a wepon.

-
That isn't Halo because Halo doesn't get destroyed for another 542 years.
-
An ARG for what? Reach? No, it's too late for one. Previous Halo's? I'm pretty sure it's just a little late for those.
-
Who cares if it is dust or something? It does look a lot like Halo ruins, that's a pretty cool find though.
-
its amazing how the human imagination can think its something out of a video game but then again google did say that it was a flattend disk. in my opinon the us goverment should send a prob and search this ring and if we find any alein life all cred goes to the man (or kid) how made this thread

I noticed that the picture does not match up. there is this one star on top of the red line. It does not cross over to the other side. there is this one trail of smoke. It ends right smack at the red line.
-
LIES dont fall for these LIES always BELIEVE.
-
Anyone who has google earth, just found another! and is angry-lol- go to IC 3729 and inbetween that star and IC 3717 theres a red fragment- Watch out Haloz Firn Its Lazr.-lolololol Probaly a reflection form the leans but you never know- always believe.
Posted by: Darthbill99
Posted by: Cirkob5477 What's wrong with Epsilon Eridani? I just checked, and there's nothing suspicious there Edit: Looks like an eclipse... that's it o.o EDIT 2: HOLY **** It does look like a Marathon symbol :O
lol, yeh and epsilon eridanti is an important system in the halo universe, I beleive its where the insurectionists are most active, but I might be confiusing it with epsilon eridanus, the star system where reach is located.
Can i see a pic?

we are all going to die then

lense flare.
-
This was found way back when the space portion of Google Earth was launched. There is no way it can be related to Reach.
-
Sorry to stop the conspiracies guys, but this came up in the Halo 3 forum just before Halo 3 came out, so its not Halo Reach [probs not even Halo 3], hence wrong forum =/

From Wikipedia on the Corvus constellation: "Corvus is a small constellation in the southern sky. Its name is Latin for raven or crow. It includes only 11 stars visible to the naked eye (brighter than magnitude 5.5). It was one of the 48 constellations listed by Ptolemy, who only counted 7 stars,[1] and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations." 7 stars? He counted 7 stars. 7. 7OMGWTFBBQ BUNGIE maybe? The Tru7h is in the stars. BTW I checked just to be sure; it's what I thought: the Cruiser is fake and has been edited in. I haven't read all the posts so I don't know if anyone said it yet, but above it looks like the marathon symbol.
-
This was also spotted in H3,and then brought up again in ODST. Very, old news I am sorry to say.
-
the halo could be an accident but not that covenant cruiser
-
This would explain Bungie Aerospace...
-
I bet Bungie saw this and was like "These guys, they are freaking out over nothing. Theres no ARG" Kinda like how they were when we were speculating about the banner silhouettes.
