It's not plural. It's possessive. You are referring to the grammar of the people. I was just getting a smart ass.... But I am not wrong. Peoples is a collective noun. It can properly be used as saying " peoples of America" but when referring to the grammar of the people, "people's" is correct.

No worries. I was just being a smart ass. I did learn that people can be used as people's, peoples, and peoples' from double checking myself. Questioning everything is a great way to learn I feel. Thanks for the help *raises hand for high five*
