Seriously I started an alt warlock, and almost all my deaths are from not making jumps. Any advice on this or is the warlock just a weaksauce jumper.

I find the Warlock has the best jump in the game. Double tap your jump to get glide going and you can do just about anything. I Am a PC Gamer, use W to move after you get your glide and steer with the mouse. I'm sure that will translate to a controller. Hit jump again to drop.

2 RepliesFun things to do with the warlock jump: 1. If any enemy gets even remotely close to you in pve, just jump. You'll float there for long enough for your health regeneration to start, while yelling "F**k ye, landlubbers!" 2. In pvp, when running around a corner, float up into the air, then round the corner while in flight. You'll be way up in the air, not where a player expects you to be when rounding a corner. Dive bomb them immediately after. 3. Become a Flying Fortress. Never touch the ground for more than two seconds. Seriously.

For PVP try Teleport.... it's OP! Lol

Edited by SmashvilleViking: 9/30/2017 7:47:14 PMMy alt is a warlock, and I love the jumps. Then again, I did start my warlock around the time TTK came out. Warlocks have the second best jumps after hunters.

No you suck at jumping eventually you’ll get better I highly recommend the following. Before you start any strike or pvp content Have a play on said character for 5 minuets in edz Step 2 profit I’ll take payment through paypal I didn’t state you’d profit just me

This right here is proof that the Crucible meta is fine. The Warlock glide has been amazing for years, and ledge grabbing makes it even better. All this stuff people complain about is subjective. Nothing needs to be done.

37 RepliesEdited by Der_Peevmeister: 9/28/2017 7:44:58 PMI am legitimately baffled by people who hate/can't use the Warlock jump. Personally I think it's the best jump of the three classes.

Warlock jump is funniest things in the game, but also the most unforgiving... I can't tell you how many times I've been stomped off the map. My Tips. a) Running makes a big difference. b) Generally you press the jump button twice fairly quickly. Slightly less to do more of titan skate. Play with the timing. You can jet off, on, off, on, etc. in one jump. c) I find looking where you want to go helps. up, down, etc. If you jump wrong you float like a bubble bee. When you do it right you can jet through the air.

I ran 2 Warlocks and would erase and recreate my 3rd char every expansion to switch between Hunter\Titan. I do not like the nerf to burst glide, I am maining a Hunter now cause of it.
-
hey don't try changing the warlock jump if you aren't a main. there's some people out here that actually like warlock glides.
-
They should make a movie about this starring Tom Hanks.
-
Used balanced glide. Stop being a scrub
-
Funny most of my titan deaths are from missing jumps (no control in the air). If you're having issue with warlock it's because you need to tap the jump button twice immediately unlike hunter and titan.

Edited by FLEXIBLE03: 9/29/2017 9:46:06 PMI main a warlock so its really a matter of muscle memory once you get used to it. Double tap jump button and get familiar with it. Because then in some jumps You will triple tap 🙃 Also in D2 use burst glide, so when you are at the apex of your jump, you can use the left stick to glide around.
-
Yes. Yes they do. But for some reason- when you get used to it- it's the best jump. Only way I made it up Mount God-d@mn-it in Rise of Iron.
-
No, warlocks do not suck at jumping. We floof about with the greatest of ease. Apparently, you do though.

Edited by Niiv: 9/28/2017 11:53:29 PMYou suck at being a Warlock. I can use blink in 100% of PvE content with zero issues. The glides are better, and often enough I use them in platforming sections of the raid, for example, but there's literally nothing you cannot do with the Warlock jump that can be achieved with any other jump selection in the game. If I can do it with blink, and you can't do it with the glides, you're doing something wrong.
-
It's almost as if different styles of jump suit different players. Some players like Hunter jumps, some like Titan jumps and some like Warlock jumps. Each is fairly different on purpose. None are particularly better (except perhaps Blink).
-
Use the focused burst glide

6 RepliesEdited by AdligerAdler: 9/28/2017 7:16:47 PMLmao look at all you people who suck at using it. "It's not working, it must be the jump that sucks!" It's not the jump, it's you. It's slow and I wish Bungie would buff its speed a little, but it's the most precise jump in the game. It's not even hard to master it. If you can't do that then you're lacking skill real bad. The truth hurts. Git gud.

2 RepliesI actually prefer Warlock jump to every other jump. Mechanically, it's the worst, but it works best for me.
-
It's distance not height. Look at it from that perspective. I'm a warlock main and I can't use titan jump as it's height not distance
-
I'm a Warlock main. I love the jump. Though I do prefer the hunter jump for its precision and survivability when falling off a cliff. I'm totally fine with the Warlocks jump, but I'd pay money for an exotic that gave me the hunter jump on my Warlock.

5 RepliesWarlocks don't jump. They glide.
-
1 ReplyThey. Freaking. Glide.
-
1 ReplyWarlocks glide. Also, you havent upgraded it yet so obviously it wont be good. Its better than jumping at a set height like hunters
