What the -blam!- are they doing with Wormspore?

In the Tower there is a short bit of dialogue about someone having wormspore and it basically being sold illegally for a lot of glimmer in the city. My only question is what could anyone possibly be doing with it? It's from dead Thrall... Dead. Thrall. Is it a drug? Aphrodisiac? Medicine? Secret ingredient to golden age McDonald's Big Mac sauce? Where are people even getting it since the old Tower was destroyed? Edit: I've read some interesting points about wormspore being used as a hallucinogenic drug, or even to be used as a means to craft Hive influenced weaponry. These are great points. After all Cayde did turn an artichoke ascendant through a Hive ritual.

  • So wormspore is what? Mold that grows on the rotting bodies of dead thrall? Or worm poop from alien worms eating those rotting thrall bodies? Either way, pretty darned gross stuff... this is NOT a cute alien flower. So someone looks at this and thinks, hmm maybe i should try eating this? Or snorting it up my nose? Or rubbing it on my privates in case it might make me horny? Definitely gross... and a sign that someone has some real issues... Get help... seriously. Get help. ;-)
