As much as I hate the boss of the actual strike, 'The Pyramidion', I must admit to being fascinated about the structure itself - the idea that every Pyramidion is connected makes for fantastic potential and in my opinion, makes for excellent setup for potential future content.
We already know that Osiris has some connection to the Vex from mission banter from Ikora while you're on Io, and I can't help but think that the Pyramidion has some brilliant potential as a raid. I know we probably won't GET a raid in there, but does anybody else think that the Pyramidion has the potential to be an interesting raid either way?

I originally thought it would be the raid seeing the totally raid-worthy entrance. However, I honestly don't believe it'll be anything more then a strike (that Goblin we kill is the one directing the Vex conversion of Io after all, not much higher you can go with the information given to us so far).

I think that whole Nessus & IO are the best designed places, they have the exploration factor. I sometimes get into the pyramidion entry parts just to explore, they are beautifull.

1 ReplyThey'd be stupid to not have a raid in connection to the Pyramidian. That place is beautiful and spectacular. I love the Vex though. I find that enemy race to be eternally fascinating. Missions, strikes and just general banter about the Vex is always so awesome.

You may be onto something. We now know that one of the expansions centres on Osiris so maybe the raid with that expansion will be based on your idea.

3 RepliesThere's a secret passage in there where you can face Xylar

Called vault of glass. But yes it could have been a cool raid if done properly
-
Ye it was released in 2014 and was called vault of glass. It was great Destiny was great. Ahhhh the good old days sigh

I'd love to see a Titan raid where you explore lots of the sinking and barely floating parts of the area. Like a raid in and around the cargo ships in the distance behind the sirens watch spawn. Could be related to the giant sea monster there.

First time I ran that strike, I died a lot while just looking around. It's a beautifully designed area

1 ReplyI did here some some dialog in the strike where ikora says she thinks she hears Osiris.
-
enormous vex structure seemingly more massive, at least on the surface, than the vault of glass? lets make a strike out of it
...
-
Yeah raid potential for sure, but I really want to see more of the Arboretium. The place is huge as we see in the campaign and could be like a rainforest themed raid with hive corrupting it.
-
I believe the pyramidion was a part of that cut vex DLC in D1 when the group who animated it made a mistake when showing D1 cutscenes they made
-
1 ReplyReading the posts talking about how the Pyramidian is just VoG kinda makes me wonder: Is the Vault of Glass an extension of the Pyramidian? Or is the Pyramidian an extension of the Vault of Glass?
-
Maybe we'll have to fight a robot leviathan in that massive radiolarian lake.
Which definitely isn't a metaphor.
-
I personally think that D2 excells when dealing with the Vex. The storyline, raid and missions are excellent and thought provoking.
-
Raid: go back to the pit....go into the vex gate
-
Figured that it would be a VoG pt2 later on in this sequel. 🤞

If theres a pyramidion raid, it was probably cut and people will cry... This was what my magic seven ball said

It's literally just the Vault of Glass but on Io

1 ReplyDid this Strike for the first time last night. Of course I had seen videos of it but it's a very different thing experiencing it for myself. Very impressive, at least from a visual stand point, and the mechanics with the laser grids helped to give it an extra dimension. I'd never had the opportunity to do a Raid in Destiny 1 ( due to no match making ), most of the the Raids held no appeal to me ( they looked like they'd be a chore to play and I could not imagine myself having fun doing them ) but I always regretted not doing the Vault of Glass. The Pyramidion captures a lot of the 'X Factor' that the VOG had. In a way, I expected ( before Destiny 2 came out ) Io to filled with a lot more environments like this. It is also a bit depressing knowing that most of Destiny and Destiny 2 are made up of average content where as quality content like this is very rare. It also breaks my heart to know that Strikes are so in-rewarding in Destiny 2 that there is no incentive for me to ever do this Strike mission ever again.

It's OK, I feel the same way and I'm sure everyone here does as well. I'm sure we all miss VOG.

1 ReplyI could see them going it. Would love to know a little more about the back story with Asher Mir.

2 RepliesThe Pyramidion strike makes me sad. I walked into it the first time i did the strike and i thought to myself - HOLY SH*T this place is incredible. The visuals are spectacular and my first thought was that this was raid material. I even enjoy the white light things that kill you because it adds a new element to the game. But then it dawned on me. LOOK at what Bunige can do! They clearly put some effort into this area and it shows. Why couldn't they have put that much effort into the rest of the game? I'm sad because had they put that much effort and passion into the rest of the content then this game would be the gaming revolution it was supposed to be when they announced their 10 year journey.
