Okay, so I been using a couple grenade launchers since day one, I currently have wicked sister and flash and thunder. Both of these "heavy weapons" are very much sub par to every other option it seems.
Obviously I never created a triple a game but I can tell you that the grenade launchers are less effective and have a tendency to be a waste. I feel that in general they should have more reserve ammo, so that way going through all of your heavy ammo should do similar damage to a rocket launcher going through all it's reserve ammo, the reload times are basically the same.
Now flash and thunder styled grenade launchers should be significantly more rewarding for direct impacts, currently it feels like rocket launchers are a better option in every conceivable manner.
I really enjoy the idea of grenade launchers especially flash and thunder, it just reminds me of powning casuals in halo. But this whole weapon class needs some love.
I don't have either exotic grenade launcher but it seems that people agree they are sub par, and need some small tweeks to make the exotic perks worth while.
Tdp IS NOT DPS. These numbers come from the total amount of damage you can do when going through your entire ammo reserves. Obviously your dps isn't going to do you any good if your tdp isn't even within a viable bracket *cough cough* grenade launcher *cough cough*
Tdp (total damage potential @ 298 light) weapons were all tested on Nessus ether resupply non heroic event against the servitor for decent raid/strike damage comparison.

Grenade launchers are garbage not really anything they can do to make them good even the ones that blind or concuss are terrible.

3 RepliesThe biggest problem with nade launchers is the bouncing aspect of the nades. Pick one up that has prox-det or sticky nades and you will enjoy yourself much more. I recommend Berenger's Memory, but Play of the Game is also popular, so try them out.

8 RepliesSo everybody is fine screaming nerf at the top of their lungs but when somebody talks about buffing the obviously weaker things in the game, nobody is to be found... Makes you wonder if these people are just screaming on the forums to try and ruin a game that's too good for them.

9 RepliesI've seen kids consistently demolish in trials with the nade launcher. I don't know enough about them to chime in, but I'd say application and weapon choice may be a factor?

The cabal ship that if you destroy triggers the Heroic PE, it takes one drum to make it scrap metal, with the rapid fire capabilities brings it down in seconds with direct hits. Try it out.

7 RepliesIt might be nothing, but I feel like a magazine of any primary type can deal the same amount of damage to a single target as a single magazine of any heavy weapon type (Except swords, not sure about them). It may be nothing though.

7 RepliesYou have to have a nade launcher that has "release trigger to explode" Anyone that does not have that is worthless. They also achieve the biggest blast radius. Though because of explosion scaling to 1 hit you still have to be pretty close. I have subbed mine out for the Morrigan-D rocket though because tracking and dodge roll makes rockets super good.

1 ReplyI got a rewards package last night, a 304 fighting lion. There's no end to the disappointment of knowing the only thing I could infuse that in to is another grenade launcher.

1 ReplyI tried them out at first, but found them to be shite, so they instantly go to the scrap heap now. Don't have room in the Power slot for one of each weapon type anyway. A compromise would be to make the class 'launchers' to include grenade and rockets, so at least we can infuse.

yeah I'm pretty much auto-dismantaling grenade launchers since they're all garbage and we can't use them for infusion for good weapons.

6 Repliesyeah they suck. on bosses they are absolutely terrible. i have about a 50% miss rate. I say get rid of them and replace with machine guns.
