Daybreak Wars Ch. 2: Wolves of the Pack

Week 3; Age of Triumph A titan in cyan blue armor, with fur around his collar and on his pauldrons, stood at the edge of an old wood and rope bridge. He had crossed this bridge many times before, but he always hesitated first. He stood silently while flakes of snow brushed over him. "I'm sure I have a drug that could correct your anxiety disorder..." said a white ghost with the red cross of 'medic'. "I give you too much freedom, Doc..." "I don't think you give me enough freedom! Remember that experiment that allowed you to wield more concentrated amounts of Void Light? I still have not been able to work out the side effects," Doc grumbled. "Don't remind me... I'm your guinea pig anyways! It's not like you give me an option!" The titan exclaimed. "Blake? Have you arrived yet?" A voice asked over the titan's radio. Blake hit the side of his helmet. "Yeah, I'm here. Just landed..." "Stuck at the bridge again?" I asked over the radio as well. "No!..." Blake exclaimed. "I'm crossing it now..." Blake placed a foot on one of the wood boards, then cringed some when he heard it creak with old age. "Uh huh... So, the Iron Wolf titan refusing to cross the bridge to the Iron Temple is clearly not you?..." I said sarcastically. I adjusted the sights of my sniper and watched as Blake scanned up the mountain until he spotted me. "Is that a new scout rif--?" Colt chuckled and watched as my body tumbled down the mountain. After what felt like a few hours, though Colt said it was only a couple of minutes, I finally made my way to the halls of the Iron Temple. I entered the main chamber and let the heat of the various firepits wash over me. "I blame you!" I exclaimed while pointing to the titan casually sharpening his sword, Dark-drinker. "For what?" Blake asked, fully aware of what I meant. "Colt revived me on top of a shaky, rusted-away gondola about a mile and a half down the ridge..." I said while gritting my teeth. "Colt?!" Monica, Kourtney's ghost, exclaimed. "It's not my fault that he fell off the gondola..." Colt said apatheticly. I spun around and stared at my ghost. "You pushed me off..." "That's your opinion..." Colt replied while trying to stick his nonexistent nose up. "Opinion?! That's no 'opinion'! That was--Nope! Nope, I'm not going through this..." I said while taking a seat near the statue of Lord Ghelion. "That's Alan at zero; me at one thousand and fifty-five arguments..." Colt said while taking two pieces of his shell and acted like a person cracking their fingers. Blake huffed out a laugh. "Anyways... That was your fault. Ya shouldn't have been spying on me." After checking the blade, Blake stood up and challenged Dakota to a duel. T.C. spawned a large, flaming sword for his Guardian. The tall, intimidating warlock that was Dakota took the sword, then paced a circle opposite of Blake. Both Guardians charged at each other and clashed their swords together. Fire and the freezing Void energy seemed to be in a power struggle just as the titan and warlock were. "So, how's the family doing?" Kourtney asked after taking a seat beside me. "They're doin' good. Connor seems to really enjoy the 'Age of Triumph' festivities in the City and Tower," I replied. "Yeah, and all the Light we have now? It's like every thirty seconds, I'm ready to burst with Arc Light..." Kourtney said while watching electricity jump from finger to finger. "At least Saladin installed that combat simulator under the temple..." I said while tossing a knife into the air and catching it again. "That's 'Lord' Saladin to you..." Kourtney said, mocking the fact I was not made an Iron Lord along with everyone else. "...My bad..." I said frustratingly. I threw my knife across the room and hit a target board right on bull's eye. Blake managed to pin Dakota's sword to the ground, then he punched the warlock in the ribs. Dakota stumbled back, but force pushed Blake away before he could strike. After standing back up, Blake used his jetpack and flew into the air; he prepared to slice his opponent in half, but Dakota took his sword, then performed a deadly attack known as the Phoenix Uppercut. Blake was reduced to a pile of smoldering ash. I clapped slowly for Doc and, subsequently, Blake. This was not the first time the titan had died by that blunder of an attack. Blake was revived and he flipped me off right away. Then, the two Guardians faced off again. They were not locked in a struggle, this time they were gracefully dancing and clashing swords time and time again. Whenever Dakota thrust forward, Blake dodged to the side. Whenever the titan swung for a killing blow, the warlock would jump or duck accordingly. Dakota managed to snag the Dark-drinker in the teeth of Raze-lighter, then gained the upper hand. Blake was forced back, even dropping to one knee, but he resisted Dakota's superhuman strength. Suddenly, the two Guardians were flung through the air and tumbled across the floor. Blake and Dakota looked up to see Kourtney proudly wielding her Young Wolf's Howl sword.
