“Contacting Destiny 2 Servers” “Baboon”

I am getting disconnected from destiny every couple minutes, receiving the “connecting to destiny 2 servers” message across the bottom several times until I just disconnect completely. I am having no issues with any other services - I have a sub 20ms ping when playing battlefield 1, and a ping of about 30ms on overwatch. I can stream movies in HD with no issues, and have even restarted my router just to make sure there are no issues there. This has been going on for several days now, but has increased in frequency to the point that I can’t get through a single crucible match. Help. Please?

  • Looks like this "baboon" has been going on for awhile. Just started for me about a week ago. Bungie trying to blame isp and home network setup. I test my internet speed on the PS4 pro and I average about 80mbps download and 15 upload daily. Definitely nothing wrong with my ISP, wireless connection, router or console. Definitely a problem on bungie' s side. They should fix this ASAP before they start losing more players due to their inability to make us happy.

  • Well...they keep saying that they're trying to fix it but I feel like they aren't really doing a good job. I hope this WILL BE RESOLVED SOON or I'll just keep playing CS:GO and forget that I spent $90 for a game that doesn't run properly.

  • Same issue here thought we had resolve these issues. Had about a week where I could finally connect four more than 10 minutes at a time even got a character up to level 14. Now back up two continuous baboons and weasels.

  • Same here, been happening since first maintenance day, longest i can go with out an error is about an hour. Most of the time its every ten min or so.Baboon, beetle, anteater, guitar, maiberry, canary, and weasel. Mostly baboon. VERY ANNOYING. I'm sure they'll fix it, just hope it will be sooner rather than later.

    • Same problem here. I'm pretty sure yes not my connection as I don't have issues in any other games. It's honestly getting unplayable at this point.

    • I'm similar position, it came with the last update, when you get baboon'd are you able to access the internet through any thing else? because until i power off my ps4 i can't even load a web page on my laptop, then within seconds of it being off, totally fine. It's 100% game/server related.
