Hey Jack. Pre-order the game on Battle.net first. Once you've done that log into Bungie.net with your Battle.net account before redeeming the codes. The codes will stay in your account in a pending status until the game releases.

Pre-Ordered, and got this message with the first of the two codes: Claim this emblem from your in game Destiny 2 Emblem Collection once your code has been applied. I'm guessing the code is only applied on release? When entering the second code, I got the same message as last time: Linked Destiny Account Required This offer requires a linked Destiny account attached to your profile before you may redeem it. Please link a Microsoft/Xbox Live Account or PSN Account that has played Destiny to this profile to proceed. Wrong account? Sign In with another account. I'm hoping all is good when the games is released. Thanks for your time.

Yeah I get the same message but to my knowledge it stays there in your account until it's able to activate itself when you start up the game. Worse case you'll just have to enter it again on release day.
