The Reason why Emile's face won't be shown! *Spoiler*

My short and sweet theory.
The reason why he hasn't been shown and will not be shown is because I believe he is in someway related to John-117, the Master Chief.

He and Master chief were born on the same planet!!! A planet that [i]lacks a large population[/i].
The fact that they haven't shown Emile's face is that they are hiding his identity. John's face was never shown either because it is up to your own imagination to determine what he looks like. I'm pretty sure since Emile could be related to him (younger brother or cousin or etc.)

In John's case, I think it's because Bungie wants to let the gamer project onto him. Lets face it, Chief is a pretty bland character. Generic hero guy. No character flaws, no personal goals that would clash with those of the gamer. A blank slate. As for Emile... I'm not entirely certain why they didn't reveal his face. They revealed or showed the other team members, which made you relate to them a bit better. Robotpeople with robot faces living and dying with little shown capacity for emotion would have left the audience a bit numb to the characters and their eventual deaths. Emile though isn't like the other members of Noble Team. He's agressive, snide, not particularly a likeable chap. The only time I can think of him showing any warmness is when Carter gives his life. He's the badass of Noble Team, and I think by keeping his helmet on, that scarred skull his only likeness, you preserve that image of him being a tough S.O.B. [Edited on 10.13.2010 4:46 PM PDT]

We can see Johns face according to the halo 3 beta. his eyes are completely white there are scars all over his face and its frankly quite creepy. search master chiefs face halo 3 beta on youtube and youll find it. so in other words i think you are wrong about Emile.

very plausible theory, but I think it's the fact that Emile doesn't want anybody to know what he looks like, even other humans. That's why he carved a face to his liking on his helmet, to strike fear and intimidation among others.

for all the people that dont know some things about Spartans and if you haven't read the books. Spartans and not aloud to show there face to any one but other spartans. And Emile follows orders. Jorge shows his face but only because the girl lost her father and if you notice Emile reaction to him after he dose it? (not a good one)

maybe emile had a DNA complex similar to MC(aka relitive) this couls make them both individualistic or they take emile because of DNA and Spartan process of augumentation could make him individualistic like MC due to a planetery DNA differance from other humans. But also know if you read FALL OF REACH thenMC was a lone wolf but also a leader. Emile is a lone wolf butonly slight leadership is shown. This means that MC was the boss if they were from the same family. MC was a single child but maybe UNSC could've impemented MCs dna to emile since the age diferance.The notion of emile being black means that either they implmented Dna to different parents or he could be the son of STG Avery Johnson. In conclusion. They are somhow related to to persnalities

I think they didn't show his face because of the skull on his mask, he's meant to be a sort of hidden character, he's drawn that skull for a reason. And I like your theory, there are no holes in it, just there is no proof either, but I like it.

emile never takes his helmet off. i finished campaign alone on Heroic and Coop Legendary. he never took it off and i finished the campaign twice.

My personal theory is that his face was damaged in an explosion of some sort and what he did to his helmet is like a symoblic thing. Might explain why he's a bit of a jerk sometimes. EDIT: Emile that is, not John. [Edited on 09.19.2010 2:48 AM PDT]
