Now, I know melting point is still somhow better than shadowshot (Bugnie how.?) but im not talking about PVE. Im talking about PVP; and in pvp, hunters are by far the worst class choice.
I'm talking of course, about their supers.
Golden gun, is currently the most popular choice for PVP, and can you blame them? Theyre the only subclass with a usable super in the crucible. Heres why.
Arc Staff:
While arc staff has some great perks for mobility, and damage; their super straight up sucks. Its a hell of alot more common for an arc strider to get kited out their super before even landing more than 1 kill.
The dodge doesn't help to close the gap in anyway, and the ranged option often doesn't reach you're opponent 75% of the time. So what you're left with is camping corners, and hoping the enemy is stupid enough to walk towards you so you could kill them.
I pray that the super gets some kind of speed buff, that people cant simply out run them.
ShadowShot
Dear god, shadow shot. So explain to me again why shadowshot doesn't one shot in pvp? If it doesnt one shot in pvp, then why would I use the multi-tether, ever? Ill just shoot one shot into a group of enemies and hope they dont kill me before I kill them.
Surly its good for stopping supers then, right? Hell no. Often times supers just kill me with their dying breaths, making the whole point of the super pointless.
For -blam!-s sake bungie, the tether needs to be one shot on people who arent in their super, or its useless. I dont have time to shoot people twice with tether, especially now that it doesn't stop them right away.
The worst part is that there isnt any skill ceiling. Theres no smart tricks you can learn like on litirally any other class. Theres no "Do this to close gaps" or "Do this when enemy does this" Its just both supers do litirally nothing in most cases, and really arent worth using.
Proposed changes.
Arc Strider
+10% Movement speed while in super.
Shadowshot
+ Damage enough to one shot high armor targets who arent in their super
+ Can do crit damage to people tethered. (Why was this removed?)
+ Tether activate immediately upon catching someone.

Even though imo golden gun is the pest PVP super in the game....

i just want my blink back...

And the fact that it's a staff still sucks and makes little sense. Give Arc Striders a real bladed weapon! Like a saber, dual short swords, bladed tonfas... hell, the Cabal get basically Indian pata blades! Why don't Hunters get a pata? Or a katar? Seriously, anything bladed except the staff. It makes no sense.

26 RepliesHunters have the most mobility in the game. And you complain they aren't fast enough. People like you are why I hate hunters. All they do when you start shooting them is jump straight up in the air and since Destiny has garbage FOV and vertical sensitivity you can't track them. Then they have the audacity to come on the forums and ask for more mobility and more powerful supers EVEN THOUGH they literally have a gun that can one shot 3 people from almost any range. Wanna know who sucks? Titans. Bungie hates titans. In D1 we had an "unbreakable bubble" that could be one shot by any other super. Sentinel sucks ( the shield often times doesn't 1 shot in crucible). Striker is slower than arc staff and has less range. And for hammer of sol you can throw maybe 4 hammers before your super expires. In Destiny 1 titans had twilight garrison, but Bungie thought that was too powerful so they made the midair dodge a default warlock ability. Titans also have the lowest stats in the game and the worst jump now that titan skating is gone. Over half the players in the game main hunters , some even having 3 just because hunters are so much better at PvP and PvE than titans or warlocks. Trials is dominated by hunters for a reason. Cry more. You honestly deserve nothing more than what you have.

1 ReplyJust one little side note: you can run away from fist of havoc like you can run from an arc strider. Very frustrating
-
2 Repliesbullshit post is bullshit. hunters are the most op in crucible
-
1 ReplyDisagree on arcstrider. All I've used thus far in pvp. No problems killing multiple people without getting killed in turn. All about timing of when to go for it. Do agree the dodge is junk
-
As an arc strider main I will have to aggressively disagree about the super. it's not trash at all. It just requires a lot more from the player to get something out of it than other supers. You need to know when to activate it. It sounds stupid I know but a wrongly timed activation is going to get you nothing at best and killed at worst. For me I always activate it either when the enemies are pushing (especially if they are pushing with their own supers) or if my team is in the middle of collapsing on them from one angle. I almost always net 2 kills with my super. sometimes 3 if my team is playing right. If you dodge you should always follow up with a right bumper attack unless you're in 2 situations. first is if you're still obviously way too far. and second is if you're near death and you'd die mid lunge. in that case you hit right trigger instead. it covers about the same distance as lunge. I personally run dragons shadow (movement+ handling speed for 10 seconds after a dodge) and the bottom tree. If someone does choose to sprint away from you you can with this tree dodge forward and that+ the bottom tree sprint speed will catch you up close enough that you can dodge again and lunge with your right bumper to kill them. If they jump though forget it. The 2 most important things to remember with this super is to learn how to use your dodge most effectively and when to not commit to a kill. The ONLY improvement I want on the super is to get the same treatment sentinel's super has. with the sentinel you can skip a RB hit and do your lunge bash if you jump in the air to start. Normally you have to RB twice. With arc strider I want your RB after a dodge to be your second RB in the RB RB RT combo. That way you have access to your ranged/aoe palm blast easier. Shadow shot on the other hand. The delay for it to tether someone is like basically the same from D1. You need to place it a lot better it can't be used in a panic now. And mobious quiver was never meant for pvp. It's for pve. It lets you do good damage on majors you've tethered or good damage on a boss with that cluster that you opted for in order to give more direct team support with the buffs and smoke invis.

OP spends ages saying I think something's bad and only posts stuff to support that view. However. There are other facts. It's about the whole picture. Bow can shut down most other supers if used properley. As can golden gun. I'm talking from a safe range too, not going toe to toe and hoping for the best. Arc staff can be used to wipe whole teams or to push a team/player into a trap. But if you're talking about PvP effectiveness you surely have to consider the whole class? The long range melee of a throwing knife? Or smoke bomb? The dodge and reload of class abilities? The instant recharge of grenades with the lucky raspberry? The invisibility effect for stealth revives/out manoeuvring people? And so on.

Given the D1 issue with hunters being able to kill off entire teams with limited scopes and accessible for all ranges on maps? You don't need +10% movement. You need to be smarter about your locations and usage since you don't have a recovery class option anymore. Shadowshot should NEVER have been able to kill a max armor titan. The ENTIRE point of going max resistance, recovery, ect. is because the perks should be powerful. Recovery should be up the moment it activates if it is a 10. Resistance should be surviving a single usage of a super and dying immediately following a single hit (voidwalkers would kill based on the after explosion. And mobility should be well within the capabilities to dash around a corner to avoid a tracking super. Survive the explosion radius? Maybe (depends on the super). The point is: A max stat of 10 should be accessible for all classes. If a titan REALLY wants to skate around with two hunter buddies? They should. Same with warlocks, hunters, and titans respective builds.

I get bullied for using a hunter😢

Edited by I Jack I: 9/21/2017 9:04:45 PMI wrecked entire team with the arcstaff, just you need to practice the right timing and as well you have to use the righe combos for the situation; about shadow shot i agree it should be one shot kill if the enemy is not with the super active but for the other perks is perfectly balanced!
-
Shadowshot has always kinda sucked in PVP, BUT I still mained that class because of all the perks, like Invis, nades, and the amazing shadestep, but all that has been simplified so far it seems it's prob not any good any more.
-
If only we had blink back blink and arc strider would be badass
-
1 ReplySee, I agree with the arc strider but not with the shadowshot. It does shut down supers if your not stupid enough to do it from one foot away and it does one shot hem if it is a direct hit. now, mind you, if the guy has a sentinel shield up or something it won't one shot him but it is easy enough to kill him afterwards. I personally think that golden gun should get buffed with the animation. You often enough get killed before you can fire a shot off because you point it in the air for like 10 seconds. Furthermore, it lasts for like 1 second as well.
-
Golden gun is the best pvp super
-
2 RepliesWhat's even funnier is that suppressor grenade is basically a tether that you can throw way more often.
-
2 RepliesNightstalker is my bae in the Crucible. I kill people with the Decoy Grenades so damn much. I use the Pathfinder kit, not the 3-shot kit. Dodge roll is excellent. Go invis all the time. Nightstalker with Path of the Trapper is good tier.
-
Well put friend. I agree. Thats why I main titan now. Hi5?🤗
-
4 RepliesI really thing golden gun with the six shot ability is the best. Since this game is so team shoot oriented everyone groups up and you can easily wipe a team mostly when you pop that super.
-
5 RepliesI think tethered enemies shouldn't be able to move AT ALL. I mean something along the lines of being frozen in place. Too many times have I witnessed people walk around a corner and break loose then shove some bullets down my throat.....
-
Yea they need to buff the movement speed and the dodge distance for arcstrider. Brief invulnerability when dodging would be nice if that's not already there. Nightstalker's tether needs to activate on impact if it's a hit. It also should one shot guardians not in their super without maximum armor. Their class ability needs a little work, too...

1 ReplyAll supers can be shut down easily especially with team shooting with energy weapons. I have shut down every super this way and have had every super shut down on me. Supers are no longer as amazing as they were in D1. Now you have to plan your super, use cover and teamwork to make the most of a super. When one of my teammates pops a super I follow him and shoot at the people that shoot him.
-
11 RepliesYour just bad. The warlock have the 3 worst in the game.

Beyond even anything else, I agree that Arcstrider should be fast as hell on wheels when its super is on.
