Raid loot system is infuriating, demotivating and a huge joke (coming from someone that beat the raid twice).

It’s not worth it. My team and I just spent near 3 hours on the final boss and I got a rare emblem and a Titan mark. Granted the mark dropped at 300 which was nice, the only other drop I had during that raid was an auto rifle. That auto rifle dropped at 286 and I was already at 289. I was able to put a damage mod on it which bumped it up to 291. But what’s up with the lower level drop? Are we really going back to the VoG days where you spend hours trying to complete the raid, just to walk away with one, MAYBE two drops? Are we really going back to the King’s Fall days where the power level of the drops have a good chance of being lower than you current level rendering them useless? And let’s not forget about the vendor that unlocks after you beat the raid. You earn tokens from doing the challenges, which you can then use to level up with the new raid vendor. The vendor does obviously give you raid gear, but the problem is that it drops at normal legendary drop power levels. I received the raid pulse rifle at 281. Yes, I could infuse it and make it more powerful, but doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of running the raid? Raids are meant to be challenging and very hard missions, but you’re also supposed to be rewarded accordingly for the effort it takes to beat these challenges. Please, tell me if I’m wrong but the loot system for this raid seems like a huge step back from the system the devs designed in D1 because of drops like this raid has. Edit: For all you kiddies out there telling me I should be grateful that I got anything or I shouldn’t get all the raid gear in one week and what not, I never said I should get it all. But it is very demotivating to go almost the whole raid without getting anything, and when I do finally get a drop having it be a lower power level than what I can use. The auto that I got doesn’t even come up to my current power level even with a +5 damage mod. And I can’t infuse it higher because weapons are locked to its archetype for infusion. And either way, if your answer to me is something along the lines of “just infuse it with a higher weapon”, you clearly don’t understand. That defeats the whole purpose of running raids. Raids are supposed to reward you with the most powerful and unique gear in the game. And instead you get ‘rewarded’ with nothing more than some useless weapon or armor more than half of the time. It’s going to be a long grind before I get an auto rifle that’s high enough to where I can either use it or infuse it (but the infusion system is a whole different topic that I’m not going to get into).

  • the raid should never be dropping gear below your light level, especially this early inthe game. The reward for your time that we keep getting told will be respected needs to actually be something to be proud of. not pissed off becasue you feel you wasted your time obtaining look that is useless to your progression. And the gear is all basically the same with minor differences. what about raid specific perks, with the things bungie chose to leave behind and what they chose to add, I don't feel they made a huge step forward if any was made at all. Just a different pile.. same crap. pvp feels different but, the same issues exist. LAG only now we have no idea who caused it. The raid seems beautiful have played it a ton.. the drops.. make me ask why the hell I didn't run public events for that time. seems like it would have ben far better
