I really enjoy pretty much every aspect of Destiny 2, everything is so much better than in Destiny 1!
.... except the Warlock Armor.
Here is a picture that sums up most of the Destiny 2 LEGENDARY Warlock armor sets pretty well:

The Rare Armor Sets look really good but so far really the only thing i don't like about Destiny 2 is how the legendary Robes go all the way to the ground, making them literally look like a dress. Can you guys at Bungie please make some better Designs (Robes stop at the knee for example) for the expansions?
Edit: I understand that it all comes down to personal taste but i think at least one of the common legendary robes drops should have a bit more of a sporty look with short robes.

The problem is that most of the legendary robe's skirt part doesn't go all the way around in the back on the bottom, like a trenchcoat, like it did in destiny 1.
-
Dude, the warlock armor in the expansion, in my opinion, looks like complete crap still. A step up, but still terrible...

Get Starfire protocol and put one of the white and red legendary suros shaders on it. One of them is going to make it look shining white and just pure beautiful. Since the Starfire is a little bit bulky I have it a bulky helmet and put the rare Atlantis wash shader on it. Now My whole set is amazing looking with a golden white color scheme all over it. Just purely beautiful. Xur is selling Starfire today in case you don't have it yet.

2 RepliesDude what are you talking about? I mean yeah, the “philomath” armor robes look really dumb and dress-like, and the crucible armor looks a bit weird, but the vanguard and “heiro camo” robes look awesome, they look like legit jackets or overcoats, and the whole “high minded complex” armor set looks all around amazing altogether. And the Nessus “Exodus Down” armor and the FWC armor are some of the coolest warlock armor sets I’ve seen so far. Especially FWC, (because the logo on the chest looks so good with the jacket looking robes) So if you don’t like the whole “dress” look just join FWC or grind for tokens on Nessus. Because the robes and helmets for those armor sets look awesome. Also the EDZ “wildwood” armor and Dead Orbit armor doesn’t look too bad either. Just saying, there are some pretty decent options to look cool as a warlock

Iron banner armor fixes this issue game set and match!

1 ReplyHow about some robes similar to darth sidious, combine that with stormcaller, now that would be epic
-
There needs to be more western duster type robes with split back for warlocks. I'm tired of wearing dresses. At first I really liked the philomath robes but they only look good with certain shaders. With the wrong shaders it looks like something my grandma crochet for me. It also bugs me how they run in them. So far the exodus down robes have been the only robes I like in the game. I'm super disappointed with all the warlock armor.

I just made a post regarding this subject, and listed a few examples of Warlock armor from Destiny 1 that I think would be cool to either be brought back, or inspire future designs. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/233792924

A dress that stops at the knees is a skirt. Rather have a dress. And besides, robes can be bad ass. You ever seen Gandalf kick ass in his dress? Or obi wan? Neo in the matrix?

Edited by OurWildebeest: 9/24/2017 2:23:24 PMI didn't like the rare armor. One or two were ok, but mostly, it looked like I was wearing rags. Of the legendary armor, I found one that looks more like a winter or ski coat, but you're right, the others are too close to a dress for my taste. Not quite there, but oddly close. Add it to the list of odd Bungie design choices, along with the prissy "sit" animation that effectively means there is no "sit" animation in the game now. Bring back VoG designs - maybe change them slightly to fit D2 content, but that was the definition of well-designed armor. (Also, bring back D1 "sit" animation.)

1 ReplyI actually like High Minded Complex' Space Scavenger look. I love how the flowing fabric contrasts the armor's steel looking arms. Exactly what I'm looking for. The design on the Philomath is okay but I find it so High Fantasy with its scapular impression. Would look good with a staff but not with big guns.

I was doing a public event last night and my Warlock tripped over the bottom of his robes, dropped his Hawthornes shotgun and it accidentally went off in his face. It was pretty embarrassing but it did cause an HVT to srop dead in his tracks with laughter while my teammates finished him off.

While I miss some of the designs from the first game I like most of the. Warlock sets in D2. I don't think that they look too feminine at all.
-
3 RepliesThe Voidfang Vestments from Year 1, is a perfect example of what a Warlock chest piece is supposed to look like.
-
3 RepliesCan you imagine - they will make the robes go down above the knees but then take away the pants and give them space high heels... That will be so much better! I'm with you man - the warlock armor looks way too feminine, even for a female warlock. The Optimacy one looks beautiful, like she's going out on the town, but wth? They are supposed to be kicking arse and taking names, not kissing arse and taking phone numbers!
-
so true. The character model is way too feminine too. Male hunters stand like females also. The armour and models definitely had a more feminine touch this time around.
-
Philomath looks amazing. Damn Green Power Ranger chest/shoulder piece lookin thing!
-
5 RepliesYou forgot about the Lost Pacific gear
-
there are robes that make you look like a homeless person whats not to love
-
If you think about it, warlocks/wizards always have long, floor length robes. Being a female player I love how pretty they are (that picture was stunning btw) but I can see your point in wanting a more masculine appearance
-
Though I don't think your desire is unreasonable and it does make for good diversity, I thought there was an in canon reason saying the length of a warlock's coat represents their wisdom. Either way I recommend going after that sweet raid coat, it's got you covered.

1 ReplyLook at titans it's even worse they look like the fox NFL robots
-
Try the heiro camo set, robes look more like a coat. Can be acquired from any vendor except gunsmith
-
Actually the phalomath robes are awesome!
-
3 Repliesthe high minded complex robes look pretty cool imo.
