Destiny 2 will be dead by the end of the month...

Saturday, September 16, 2017 5:28 PM Destiny 2, while on the surface has corrected many flaws of the original, ultimately removed the incentives to keep playing past Power Level 270. I love the gameplay that is available to me in Destiny 2 but multiple changes that were NOT requested have me worried that the player base will be gone within the month of September. The following are the changes that I predict will result in the ultimate failure of the series… - Enemies Power Level scales with your current Power Level, making the incentive to reach max Power Level and be able to re-run and demolish older enemies non-existent. Doesn't matter what your Power Level is, enemies are always the same difficulty. No reasons left to play after finishing story/raid. - Trials of Osiris (and presumably Iron Banner) don't have Power Level requirements or enable Power Levels, making earning Raid Gear or higher level gear irrelevant. If you originally felt that PVE was for leveling to be able to be better at Crucible, goodbye to you people. - All legendary weapons are equal, making earning different ones irrelevant. Just pick any old weapon and play. There goes weeks of gameplay. - Exotics are TOO easy to collect and are notably underpowered, really eliminating the need for them at all. I don't even notice my exotic's perks. I have collected nearly all the exotics within a week. What happened to pining for a Thorn for months until you could achieve the quest requirements? The use of exotics as upgrade material devalues them and makes them ordinary. I used to ache and dream about the exotics I wanted but couldn't get. I don't think about Destiny 2 once I put the controller down. - Removal of Grimiore and collectable results in NO OPTIONS but to mindlessly kill people. There is no need to sneak and explorer for the sake of proving you are a serious gamer. All gamers are equal in Destiny 2, removing the incentive to try and be a God. The replacement of this with "investigations' is extremely disappointing. I haven't even listened to one audio byte from my Ghost explaining the thing, there is no proof I investigated it, no record of what I've investigated and I can just keep investigating the same things OVER and OVER. This actually has made the lore far LESS engaging. - Raid rewards are irrelevant and unneeded. Raid rewards used to be the only way to reach max level and thus necessitated playing them. Now it is irrelevant. Also, raid gear used to have special perks that made them superior to regular legendary items. Now, there the same as all the weapons you already have. Everyone in my clan was 290 or above prior to the raid dropping and we have still yet to even enter the raid. We can't figure out a reason why it would be worth the trouble when my level hasn't stopped raising without it. - Story missions were intended for SOLO ONLY and were far too easy, removing the need for you to cooperate with clan members early, and thus makes friends see less value in working with others later when it is necessary. I just keep getting drops from Hawthorne from clan members for doing nothing. Not to mention, no collectables means I never need anyone to show me anything or teach me any tricks to be successful. - There is ABSOLUTELY nothing to buy with earned glimmer or shards. I remember the need for heavy ammo synths was so great and necessary for beating bosses in raids that we used to spend a week grinding just to buy synths from Xur to be able to dominate. That’s all gone now. Glimmer is useless, strange coins don’t exist, and Xur's inventory is a joke. The different types of upgrade materials were at times frustrating, but actually MADE you play all game types to earn the right materials. Now, I don't have to do anything but public events. I'll beat all my friends to max light by simply killing the walkers a 1000 times. In closing, I'm terrified right now because the ONE game I thought I could depend on to keep my poor, moneyless self engaged and not thinking about how little I am able to do in real life is most likely gone. Presumably this was done to attract more novice and uncommitted players to give Bungie their money. But what they've done is created a game with less re-playability than Assassin's Creed games (hilariously easy to wipe in 3 days) and one that will ultimately have NO player base by the time DLC 1 is dropped. Bungie always said that they wanted us to have a game with MAXIMUM re-playability, that required our effort on nearly a daily basis. But these new changes, not to mention the abandonment of the promise to let us keep our characters and gear, has me convinced this is the end of the greatest game ever created. Sad… (normal, grieving voice, not Donald Trump voice)
