I like the timed element as it gives a sense of challenge, learning what to do and it raises the difficulty to a point that the nightfall is actually endgame. Not just walk through at your own pace and get good rewards. Regular strikes are for enjoying not the endgame. You don't go slowly through the raid systematically eliminating bosses, you get through it fast. Just my thoughts though. I know im going to get a lot of backlash for having an opinion against the mainstream.

Edited by kevindargie: 9/19/2017 2:51:58 PMI completely agree. The key word's here being END GAME content. People don't understand that Bungie wanted this game to be more in line with an MMO's standards. End game content in an MMO has selected aspects such as enrage timers, completing duties before a certain time, getting certain phases on bosses down before certain times etc.. It seems as if casuals don't understand the whole main reasoning behind this decision. Think about it in terms of a development standpoint on bungie's end. If 99% of the community is able to get through end game content that is suppose to be hard and they all do it within the first month of its release.. the game just gets stale and the entire community starts complaining about "where's the next patch of content at, i've done everything already"..the timing thing just separates the community from casual vs progression. If you want to "progress" you need to get better and more effective as a team. They're really trying to push the whole "get better at the game so we can throw harder content at you."

FINALLY, Someone who gets it. They don't want the community to breeze past what is supposed to be the hardest content in the game, no, they want you to get stuck so there is a greater sense of achievement when you finish.

Timers are artificial difficulty. The content is what should be hard. That was what the Nightfall modifier was all about until they did away with it. I'm not against a speed run like set of content, just not at the expense of current content.

Nah, if that's what you prefer, all good. I just personally don't like it and much prefer how nightfalls were in D1. Each to their own.
