I figured with Bungie letting Halo go and ONI being far behind us, I would go vintage and appreciate some of their older works. I've already tracked down Marathon (not exactly hard, lol) but I'm wondering where I would find PiD and Minotaur. I play on a PC, so I don't even know if the old Mac game has been emulated for windows at all.
Off topic, how often do people post game-play related topics here? Seems like at least three a day.
Posted by: Placid Platypus You can download the orignal PiD and Minotaur games as freeware, though as Augustus pointed out, they can only be run on a Mac (with a caveat however, read on). That said, you could also run Mac emulators on PC (Such as Basilisk II or SheepShaver) to recreate a Classic Mac OS environment. You would need a Classic OS 9 environment or earlier to run both programs in this manner however. Both PiD and Minotaur are great games, and I highly reccommend you play them. It may be a bear to instal the required emulators on your PC, but it will pay off in spades. Trust me. Of course, my bounty for the Minotaur soucre code still stands, should anybody manage to locate it.
This is the way to go, I'm telling you, it's a lot easier then you think it is. There's even guides on the internet to tell you how to do it. Really, I was on the exact same boat as you are. I had played every game from Marathon to Halo 3, but I couldn't play those first couple of games, due to the fact that they only ran on OS 7-9. Thankfully I found SheepShaver, and I can play every Bungie game on my computer now. Here's a website were you can download all the classic Bungie games (everything is legal) including Marathon: Zero (which kind of a beta).

I've been thinking about finding the old Bungie games and playing them, but if I need a Mac Emulator, then I most likely won't be able to play them. Off topic, what is your bounty for the Source Code?

This is the closest I've ever been able to discover, with regard to PiD anyway. That said, I've not looked too hard :)
Posted by: Agustus The older games up prior to Marathon have not been emulated to my very limited knowledge, and are difficult to acquire and play.
I was afraid of that. It's not the end of the world, but is mildly disappointed. I was a bit surprised when I started up Marathon and saw a Djinn-looking fellow floating in a dungeon.
