Exotic into Legendary infusion
got an exotic leg armor @ 265 and a legendary @ 249. Since i'm already equipped with an exotic helmet, i thought i'll infuse the exotic leg into the legendary.
after infusion, the legendary went up to 260.. i didn't understand the math here.. can someone please explain this?

3 Repliesexotic come with legendary mods on them which increases the items light level by 5, these 5 light levels do not count towards infusions. legendary mods are available at banshee once you hit light level 280.

so, if i get another 265 and infuse it into that 260, i'll still get 260??

The math has never made sense because there is no math used. There isn't even logic used. Frankly, your legendary item should have been upgraded to the 265 that the exotic was at... but that's not how Bungie or Destiny has ever worked.

That doesn't carry over to the legendary leg armor when you infuse. On the other hand, if the legendary leg armor had a legendary mod on it, it would have become 265.
