Forge City: Build your own section of Forge City today!

If it's not already on the drawing board, we've got years of DLC to plan for. All you have to do is build your section of Forge City and we can "connect" them! There will need to be at least 5 main locations, just as there are on [b]Forge World[/b]. It'll of course take place in New Alexandria, so [url=http://www.bungie.net/images/Games/Reach/images/screenshots/e32010ff/full/Reach_E310_Firefight_Beachhead03.jpg]this will be the color scheme[/url] for the buildings. Keep that in mind. Now lets get to the locations. Perfect for competitive gametypes and other wacky stuff for FFA or Headhunter! Don't forget, this can house the infamous Derekball gametype that has yet to be seen! WORT WORT WORT! Here it is [url=http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/halo/images/thumb/3/3b/ODST_Firefight_CraterNight.jpg/800px-ODST_Firefight_CraterNight.jpg]again[/url]. Remember, this entire area can be forged, so if you want a sinkhole in the ditch, remove the stairs and pedestals and rocks, and you get an enclosed location. On the buildings around this crater, there will also be a blank rooftop for you to Forge. This rooftop will be perfect for Griffball, landing aircraft, and other sports. The buildings and what-not will be here, and the once closed tunnels will lead to the next parts of the city. You can forge the broken bridges, the cranes, the doors, the buildings themselves, the catwalks, teleporters, etc. Super jumping can be possible, once again! This will be a small, grassy area on the edge of Forge City overlooking the highway. It's the perfect spot to have nearly any gametype. Obviously the picture is asymmetrical, but the Park in Forge City will basically be just a triangle the occasional puddle, rock, and of course, that beautiful bridge. The Boulevard is largest part of Forge City since it goes throughout the entire map. The buildings along the way are [i]not[/i] forgable, but everything in the streets are. It will also cut through the city and be suspended occasionally. This Highway will be the perfect place to set up a race track or obstacle courses. You can also close a section of it off with [url=http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=101149105]the doors[/url] [quote][b]EDIT:[/b] A lot of people are saying the City Scape would be too difficult to Forge in. Well let me explain why it wouldn't: ALL the buidlings in Headlong, Terminal, and the pedestals, street signs, road blocks, lights, doors, cars, stairs, catwalks, rocks, etc will [i]all[/i] be forgable. When you load up a blank city, the only thing there is the street, and cityscape buildings you can enter in (which are equivalent to rock walls on Forge World). You can place those dividers for plazas and what-not in there with Forge. Those pedestals, street lights, cranes, and pathways will all be dictated by you. On the remakes, however, part of the map will be sectioned off (much like Hemorrhage) and it will be made in Forge. Simple.   • I like it.. I could never make something like this. I don't know if it's just me but slight framerate drop if you look in certain places.. and in certain places, everything flashes with different colour :D Maybe with the circular ramp, small or whatever it's called, people could camp in them. I'll upload the [url=http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=9421396&player=n0tforangels]video of it flashing :D[/url].. I know I suck but still.. Look through 1st person view. I will note that looking right is quite difficult as when I was driving the mongoose I had to stop and wait for my controller to respond fast enough for it to look right(look how slow at how holding the joystick right the whole way is). Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't(I do suck at driving but I would suck less if it works). Yes I do need a new controller. I do suck at aiming so yeah. I'm not going to lie about that either.

  • Heres an idea When you start the map there is just water with a very nice background. From there you can build all the roads, buildings, streetlights, doors, etc. This way the CPU usage is very low, making more room for forge objects! cuz those are really the only things that matter, Mkay?   • Odd. No Bungie guys showing up to confirm or deny that any of this is is possible. Not even any Ninja's popping in, from what I see, and this is a pinned topic too.... If no Ninja's have posted at least, somethings odd. One of them is ALWAYS lurking in the background. Conspiracy.... Bungie is watching like we would watch Insects... OT time: I, too, would enjoy something different than Forgeworld. Forgeworld was great, but it was extremly lacking in the stuff that makes maps actually seem like playable spaces, not just grey and silver and black rooms: Scenery Items. I miss the many items you could place in to use, like the Computer, the radio, water cans, etc. If Bungie does every make a Forge City, I would hope it would have these in it. And civvie vehicles. I did not understand why Bungie went to all the effort to put Forklifts you could drive in, then limit it to the Campaign and a single Firefight level, making it the next best thing to completely unusable! Bungie, We all love you, but can you stop watching us from afar, and take ten minutes or so to post something here to confirm our hopes and dreams, or dash them all in one cruel swoop? this whole waiting thing is a little..... stress inducing. It would also be amazing if we could have some forge pieces that arent all gray.

  • I know this isnt going to get seen but I will post anyway,The reason forgeworld is works is because it is not pre-built and using rocks and cliffs you can make your own unique map.What proposing is a pre-built map mixed in with your own maps that will have as a cost no actual forging.The train on terminal colliding with a forgers objects would make the train go either boom or no train on the map,which would suck.Please dont flame just adding my 2 cents.
