Halo PC keys connected to something in Halo Reach?
Hey, forgive me if this is the wrong forum, but I'd love to get a response from Urk if possible.
We've been told many times over the last year and a bit, that our 25-digit Halo PC keys will unlock something in Reach (I'm thinking probably something similar to the Halo 2 emblem thing). Well it's been ages now since we've had an update on this, and whilst I'm cool with whatever it is being a surprise, I'm a little suspicious as to maybe whether what it would've been was cancelled.
So, can anyone tell me if our Halo PC keys will come in handy for something with Reach (not implying that I/we would throw it away lol)? :)

Whoa, people! My PM box just exploded after replying below. I can't field questions on an individual basis, and there are getting to be too many posts in this thread for me to read everything. The answer: wait and see. And don't try and buy it now, because the list of valid keys was locked in May to those already used, to prevent us from being overrun by keygenners. A few more weeks of patience, and we'll start validating keys, PC and Mac. The reward is a small visual thing in-game, similar to what we promised for Halo 2 players. Please self-police this thread by pointing people to the main answer: wait and see.

If you have the yellow sticker on the CD case with a CD Key on it, it will work. I can't believe people are actually buying the game just for a fancy little symbol they probably won't even use (as you can use only one out of numerous). Same thing will happen for the Marathon symbol, people will buy it and get through it only for the symbol and then forget about the game, lame. I'll get all the flairs, but because I bought all these games in the first place, never in a lifetime I'd pay more than 10 bucks (because it won't cost less than that, I wouldn't even pay 5 bucks for that) solely for a little visual like this.

Some people want to let others know that they have been fans of Bungie for a long time, but they may have never bought Halo CE for the PC. This also applies to Halo: CE for Mac as well right? I'm very mad at myself for not playing Halo 2 now before it was shut down :( The "Halo" flair looks the best imo.

But now I'm going ahead to buy it because of some incentive. I'm not going to be planted in front of my Xbox all the time, I'm going to need something to do on my breaks in school such as...play Halo on my laptop.

If it were possible to tally up my Halo:CE play time I probably deserve the emblem more than most people out there.

It's actually unfair to all the console Halo gamers that have been with it from the start and now feel they need to buy another copy to receive 2 emblems which they deserve just as much as those who own the PC/Mac version of Halo. Yes, people that have never played Halo on either the console or computer don't deserve to receive the emblem if they buy it now just for that purpose. But I have a feeling that the majority of the people you are directing your comment to are loyal Halo fans who own Halo CE for the Xbox. Personally, I will not be getting the PC version (unless it's dirt cheap - in which case I'll buy it for the exclusive maps) as I don't see the value in paying $5-10 for 2 emblems. But others will see the value in it.

Of course Bungie wouldn't do a cut-off, they were probably anticipating this. Hundreds or thousands are now going to go out and buy old Bungie games just to get these visual flairs, sure, it's not really that good for those who played the games in their time and earned the emblems, but Bungie makes some extra cash and publicity just by adding this small feature. Pretty smart really.

Well if you look at the game retailers today, barely any of them have a fresh copy of Halo Combat Evolved. I actually think that there should be a cutoff date but only after 9-14-10.
