If that were true then liberal would support it as well. At this point, it's entirely in the alt-right and hard-conservative wheelhouse.

Exactly, it's a parody of identity politics and has become a default of the right because the left spends so much time engaging in identity politics. However, that doesn't make it a hate symbol.
