What's the difference between spam and shitpost?
Spam is the same thing, shitposting is just low effort posting. I'm not spamming threads, because each one is unique.

Shitposting is similar to trolling, in that it can be either good or bad in terms of quality. Spam is always inane and unnecessary, and mostly incoherent or void of meaning.

It's been a trend on this site for a while to go from thread to thread and post the same incredibly long post over and over. Some people post recipes, others post lyrics to long songs, others have posted the Declaration of Independence, and still others posted Lenny copy pasta. The point is, [i]that[/i] is spam. It's the exact same thing (or a slight variant) every time with no thought at all; usually the offending post is just there to take up space and/or be disruptive. Shitposts tend to have more creativity behind them. They can be cheap groaner humor, parody posts, scruffy dog stories, etc., but they're usually more original and you don't post (read: spam) it everywhere.
