5000 point Clan contribution cap?

5000 a week too low

163

5000 a week seems fair

53

Bungiee needs to remove the cap and reduce rewards

6

5000 a week seems unbelievably low. I don't understand why they just don't give fewer points for completed activities and no cap. I have a small clan of just a couple friends, and it really seems like they've screwed the little guy here! Maybe I'm crazy, would appreciate and welcome any opinions on the matter

  • Something to note: there are two clan xp types, both of which can be earned simultaneously. There is clan xp, which goes toward filling the clan level bar, and personal clan xp which is the 5000 a week per character checkbox. I discovered this when after reset I did some public events and saw '500 clan xp' come up each time and yet there was nothing toward the personal contribution. Then after doing a patrol I saw '250 clan xp' and '250 personal clan xp' come up one after the other and checking the clan tab found the personal contribution part had finally started moving. Basically, the clan level xp bar and the personal contribution checkbox are unrelated. I don't know why bungie did it this way.

  • Also, hitting rep should allow us to unlock some type of clan customization that can be implemented in-game.

  • my clan is almost 100 players strong now, at the time of the first clan xp bar we were 13 members strong and we hit the cap in a day and a half. its entirely reasonable for a small clan to hit the mark. all it takes is play time. the problem isnt the size of the clan but more the participation. each player can contribute an overall 15000 points, 5000 per character.

  • For those who don't know the weekly 5000 clan contribution is character based. Therefore one can contribute 15000 clan XP per week.

    • As far as I can tell from being in a small clan there is no cap, that 5000 is how much you have to give to get a reward. It's a checkpoint not a cap. Could be wrong though.

    • It should be scaled to clan size...

My situation is particularly tough, for me at least. I made a clan when Destiny 1 launched and it was composed of my closest friends, as well as other friends and co-workers. In Destiny 2 my closest friends have come back to play as well as some new friends, and friends of friends. We're all excited to play the new game! There's 11 of us total. 3 are very active, 4 (including me) play every day but only a little, and the rest are even more casual. I play the most on weekends as do most of us, but I can afford more time than most. We plan to have the weekends boxed out for when we start the Raid. So as you might have guessed, we're gearing up for the raid but are missing out on the Clan perks. It's caused us to have a discussion on what we should do. Do we recruit? Do we leave? The problem is that if we leave, not all will go. If we recruit, how many can we get? Will we even like those people? We have a lot to discuss and a decision will have to be made. What I'm getting at is, that kind of sucks right? It's almost like we're being forced to be a part of a big Clan in some shape or form. There's a good chance that we won't all be Raid ready by this weekend and those Clan perks/rewards would have helped. I know the first argument will be "Just don't join a big Clan if you don't like it." Yes, that's fair. No one is literally making us do that. But it sucks that as a smaller Clan, we miss out on loot and other bonuses. The grind is even longer. The thing is, we're not alone. There are a ton of small Clans out there, even people without Clans at all. Being a console game, it's common to have a large casual audience and most casual people aren't very social. I would wager that the number of small Clans out numbers large Clans. So what I'm saying is, why not have some kind of scaling feature? Why not increase the personal daily cap? Why not incentivize Clans with a roster of 6-10? (Real quick tangent. Why even allow clans to form with a handful of people when they clearly won't benefit?) Sorry for the long post! Appreciate anyone reading it all!

        • Considering my clan is a lil baby clan, we're probably never getting the higher milestones if you're only allotted 5000 (15,000 if you have 3 characters) per week.

        • To me the cap seems fine when you consider how many points are needed overall per week for the clan. So long as you have enough active members in the clan you will reach the max easily.

          • so what you want is to be given unlimited xp.. which would hurt the bigger clans if there is a cap for the week... having a max for everyone seems fair for everyone.. if you don't like it, build your clan up.

          • To my knowledge its just a minimum for you personally to contribute in order to receive the rewards. When you are getting that xp, it will designate it Personal Clan XP and just Clan XP. After your 5000 cap, you are still able to contribute more to the overall Clan XP.

          • It's actually 5000 per character totalling to a whopping 15000 per person, I'm in a 15-16 person clan and we're currently 10250 exp away from the goal. Everyone needs to help contribute to their fullest.

              • They think each clan would reach 20 members but not everyone likes the clAn concept and some restrict it to only people they know. They keep thinking too much on making people friend each other instead of allowing flexibility, like injustice 2 had no cap to contributions and everyone got rewarded from all acheivements

I'm just against the cap because the clan I'm in is pretty much only for my close friends

                  • You actually keep earning clan XP after the 5000. I have been earning Clan XP on my titan since it became available.

                    • just make it so that clan effectiveness is at maximum with 6 members (a full raid crew)... even if you have12 people, it will only count the first 6 players their clan xp. but if you have 1 player in your clan,... goodluck.

                    • I thought it would be unlimited and reset every week. Buts that was just my assumption.

                    • If you are the only person playing in the clan then yes, it will take a long time to reach level 1. If you have 4 people playing all 3 characters you will reach level 1 week 2.

                      • My clan is also on the small side. My main concern is how long the seasons will be? If they reset our progress every month then our clan may have a hard time hitting level 5, that's for sure.

                        • It's 15000 a week per player and a total of 100,000 each week for a clan. It's more than enough.

                        • Making the rewards scale could be exploitable and rewarding a single player infinitely isn't a healthy definition of a clan. If you're a small clan with just a few friends there is no downside to expanding. My clan is nearly level 2 and that is just from throwing the odd invite to clanless people in strikes every so often. Making this clan system fair and balanced to ALL clans of all sizes seems like it could be quite a challenge. Wouldn't be surprised if Bungie does start tweaking it.
