The best way to fix this is get rid of the Quick Play and Competitive modes and allow us to select the game and have one game mode each week that is just for solo players. Rotate the solo game mode each week and everyone will be happy.
Really Bungie, you screwed up the Crucible big time and that's coming from a player who spent most of the time in the Crucible in D1.

Bringing back the same options as D1 would work too. A rotating playlist that is only for solo players is pretty lame. For those who hate certain game types, you end up segregating them for a week at a time.
