Dont make multiple characters!!! Gear drop glitch?
I have made 2 titans. When I made the 2nd one I moved all my gear across so I could do the powerful engrams again. I was 277, so when I finished the milestones for the powerful gear and got disappointed when they dropped well below my light level is. So only thing I can think of is because none of that gear I had dropped on that character. So I moved everything back to my main titan who I've grinded for hours on managed to raise my light to 284, got an exotic engrams to drop hoping it would help raise my light more but it dropped less than what I was as well. So now whatever this glitch is is affecting my main character and now I'm not even playing the game anymore because I'm not able to increase my light anymore because of whatever is happening. And I'm sure it will affect next week when the powerful engrams get reset. Bungie please fix whatever this is. It's no encouragement to make more characters

I think I heard that it doesn't recognize light gained from mods. Some like that. Not super helpful, I know, but it might have something to do with it

I didn't have any issue with both of my Hunters I get great power level gear above my light for everything still

Most drops are capped somewhere around 265 at the moment, its working as intended. Some RNG is allowing them to break the barrier, but its rare

1 ReplyThis is a TRUE statement!!! I was 270 when i started my 2nd character. I got her up to level 4 when one of my clanmates needed help. I jumped to my 270 and got a few exotics. They dropped at 265 and all blues and purples were capped a at 260!! I immediately deleted my 2nd character and grabbed for 13 hours. My drops slowly corrected. I'm 279 and it's still not like it should be, but it's better. My drops are 275 and exotics in 290's. A second character WILL BRING DOWN ENGRAM DROP LEVELS. I don't care what anyone says. It did for me and i was partially able to correct it.

same here! my second hunter is , as my main, 276 but powerfull gears drop at 269. totally pissed!!

It appears to be a newly implemented system that "tags" armor as having been used on multiple characters. It seems to function as the level it says, but the loot system sees it as lower level, so it drops "under-leveled" loot to set you back as a debuff or simply a sort of joke?

Similar issue for me. Powerful gear Engram states 284 but gives 272 gear. Assume a glitch similar to what you are experiencing as this was on my second hunter. Very frustrating. A lot of work for nothing. Bungie please investigate gate for the community. I lost my want to play right now due to frustration of time wasted due to what seems to be in game glitch. Not cool.

Yeah I am having this issue also and seems like a lot of people are. They need to hurry up and get this fixed. Everything was fine until this morning.
