Empty Chests need to be addressed
Everybody is an uproar about shaders of all things - but we have bigger issues on our hands guys.
There is a serious problem with loot in this game right now. Treasure Chests, Resource Nodes - and Even [u][b]Cayde's Stashes[/b][/u] have about a 1 in 5 chance of yielding absolutely nothing inside. (For some players).
-It has nothing to do with running away from the chest
-It has nothing to do with objects on the ground needing to be picked up
-It has nothing to do with glimmer cap
-It has nothing to do with Resource nodes sometimes only giving glimmer
-My game is not lagging
-Waiting 15 seconds or a full minute, it doesn't matter - it NEVER pops up or gives anything
-It's NOT a visual bug, you do NOT get the items. They do NOT go to postmaster
I've heard it all today guys, every single way possible to make this a user end issue - and it's all wrong. It's a bug, plain and simple. For those of you who don't think it's a big deal - you obviously don't understand the value of Cayde's cashes yet.. (Protip, they have an insanely high chance for exotics)

UPDATE 2: I just started my Titan and I made it to EDZ and started the first adventure from Devrin. He sends you across the street to the other building to open a cache - well lo and behold it was empty. Haven't opened anything else with this character yet except the one chest in the Dark Forest.
Basically my second chest in the game and nothing. Lovely. Just goes to show that it's also not an anti-loot mechanism in play.

I have played gotten 2/3 empty chests on the raid (the beginning I have completed the first part 3 times) All I want is the raid shader :(

As a fully fledged Destiny fan, all the way from D1 Beta, three years of Expansions and now finally D2, i can say with a certain degree of accuracy that this chest issue is NOT client based. this bug occurred in D1 too, especially when TTK came out and Hunters could see every chest and resource node because of the new subclass. I'm not sure if Bungie implemented the system to add more "grind" to the game, but i doubt it. It may just be a coding error where opening chests faster than normal causes the system to loop and think that the chest you just opened is still the previous one causing you to see the animation but get no loot. I've found that waiting a minute or two after going to another landing zone resolves the issue temporarily. the dev's definitely need to figure out what the problem is though, whether it be an issue with the new code, or even old code they pulled from D1.

I looked into this for a little while because I was having it too and it seems like this is something that prevents chests from dropping loot if opened in quick succession which was purposely implemented by Bungie. They are aware of this and have done nothing since launch which makes no sense. The treasure maps purchasable from Cayde-6 reveal these chests at a rate too fast for Bungie so you end up wasting time opening empty chests [i]that you paid for[/i]. I seriously hope this is fixed soon otherwise the maps are useless and getting tokens has become a lot harder. I did my looting on Titan using PC with one of the maps.

having this problem too. decided to google it after looting 4 chests and 3 resource nodes (on Titan), with none of them giving me anything at all. checked inventory before and after to be 100% sure. if its a so called "fix", then whats the point of scout reports and ghosts tracking resources!? you'd have to be too blind to even turn on your computer to not see the 1 chest and/or resource node every 5 minutes or whatever.

I'm trying to farm Nessus for the full Exodus Down legendary set, and i only need the arms now. I've been farming Nessus for days to get the arms, and i hit chest after chest after chest that's not giving any loot, which makes this already frustrating RNG process even more frustrating. I already rely on RNG once i finally get enough Nessus coins, but now i have to rely on RNG not to -blam!- me over when i open chests. I just wanna move on to something fun, but i'm stuck farming Nessus until i get that last damn piece. Sidenote: We should be able to just buy the legendary gear from each planet's character (Devirm, Failsafe, Sloane, etc) using the coins or legendary shards. No one wants their green items anyway, so the shop they do have is worthless. Let us just buy the gear we want using these coins, not spend them on a dice roll. Farming isnt fun, so stop making us do it!

having the same problem. resource nodes and caches are showing up empty. no glimmer or anything.

Wow.... I can't believe this issue has been around this long and Bungie has done completely NOTHING about it. This is the kind of stuff that makes me not want to play this game anymore.

If i remember correctly a similar thing happened in destiny 1 It's broken for me also,if it is a bug bungie need to sort it asap because i for one won't spend hours playing for nothing. Ps destiny 2 is otherwise a decent game.

I am constantly looting 1-2 chests, then getting nothing from the rest. Cayde promised us more loot, where's my loot Cayde? I want it.

Is that even going to be fixed? Trying to farm for specific armour on io so far ive done 15+ hours farming tokens and getting 1/3 chests giving me something and with my rng im never going to get the arnour set at this rate.

I am having the same trouble with this "loot cap bug" trying to get the full armor set on IO for my hunter is ridiculous, when I can only open 3 or 5 chests then poof nothing. [u]This bug has been around since taken king[/u] with worm spore farming but not as noticeable until you run into it. It needs to be addressed and fixed permanently.

I got nothing out of 4 chests in a row on Titan the other day. Nothing went to the postmaster. I waited about a minute at the 4th one repeatedly checking my emails inventory. Bungie will probably not admit it's their problem until there's a fix ready. Just like they did with the disappearing items in D1. "Are you super duper sure you didn't delete it yourself?" Laughable.

As far as I can tell, there's no rhyme or reason to it... - Logged in the other day, ran around with no scout report, maybe 80% of chests and resources were looting, popped a report, probably about the same - Yesterday, Nothing for my first 5-6 chests, then everything suddenly was working - Today, first 2 chests worked, then nothing, then everything started working, then just resources Never had an empty chest on public events. I can't see it being a mechanic in the game, just due to the randomness of it, I will say, this, at least for me, is only a recent issue. I'm not sure, but i only started paying attention late in looting to the amount of people in the area with me, not sure if it has something to do with the chests not despawing properly after another player loots?

I confer. Just opened 20+ chests and 30+ resource nodes and received no glimmer or rep items. I fact I have only gotten rewards out of 3 chests on siren's watch and absolitely no chests on the rig dropped anything. Scavenger chests, mini boss chests, and hvt chests are dropping the intended loot but 98% or more failure to receive anything from any other lootable object.

I've had a number of chests and resource nodes pop up completely empty. Now it's a cayde cache on Nessus. Seriously. It just went from mild annoyance to major peeve. It's not like I can just walk around looting more cayde caches like I can when a regular node fails. Please fix this, Bungie.

yeah just had it happen to me twice in a row without getting any other chests and i had it happen to me on my first chest last week hopefully it gets resolved by next week
