Is anyone else having trouble jumping with a Warlock in Destiny 2? I'm stuck at a part in the story where I have to go to Titan to visit with Zavala. While I'm there, I need to return power to the station. My issue is that when I try to jump to platforms, I don't make it. I tried for over an hour jumping over, and over, and over, and over again... just to keep dying, or being reset further back than I was previously.
I have all three jumps for the Warlock available, and no matter which one I choose it doesn't work. I'm obviously doing something wrong, because jumping shouldn't be this difficult. What's the secret, or is there something wrong with this level?

AIVE FIGURED IT OUT. You have to get as close to the platform as possible and look directly in the air then hold a.

Has anyone ever finished the "Deep Conversation" adventure with a warlock?
-
Holy Traveler! Thank you for this post i almost gave up on my warlock.. I never leveled up my Warwick or Titan on D1 I only used my Hunter hence the issues getting used to these two on D2 ... honestly the Warlock is my least favorite... why make jumping a -blam!-ing hassle... now the Hunter jumps.. those are awesome! Thanks for explaining how to jump with a Warlock, it was a huge help! Just double click like using a mouse... -_____- blah.

Edited by Sensaround: 9/9/2018 12:21:43 AMIt took a lot of experimenting but I managed to figure this out. Had to practice standing jumps, walking jumps, running jumps, and experience a lot of dying from missed jumps during story mode but I've sort of got this now.

HELP HELP PLEASE......I am having similar troubles as well and am ready to delete my Warlock character .....can't get any height to my Warlock's jumps ..... so I am unable to do some of the main mission on Titan. If anyone has resolved this problem please let me know ...or BUNGIE GET OFF YOUR BUNS AND FIX THE PROBLEM :P
-
This is seriously one of the most annoying things to deal with in a game. Something as simple as jumping should be straight forward. Bungie I spent a s#@& load of money on your game least you can do is make a paycheck to fix this problem.

Thought it was either my ps4 controller,DS4Windows or just me...lolol....i'm trying to find the cache on titan probably more than 10x, even tried running along the outside of the wall to get on the track, quit it to watch my Steelers beat the Browns....lolol

Thank god for this post I was about to delete my Warlock.

My problem with this, and people's comments in this thread, is that I never played Destiny 1. So for those of us new to the game we don't know how this mechanic works and the game never tells you. I had a problem earlier on Titan after you first face the hive. I must have died 20 times until I figured out you can wall ride. Same thing with the Warlock glide. Made jumps just fine with my Titan, had no idea the Warlock jump was completely different. Game needs to explain these things in the tutorial like everything else.

1 ReplyI know this is late to the thread, but in case anyone else comes across this - say while trying to figure out the platform jumping adventure "Deep Conversation" on Nessus - the key is the rapid double-tap. As Rizlax mentioned here you have to tap the spacebar about as fast as you would double-click you mouse. Any delay or hesitation and you'll lose any ability to gain height. Jumping in this game is needlessly tricky, but the warlock is has simply the worst jump mechanic. I know they're designed to allow the strafing/glide type jumps, but it really makes the platforming iffy at best. Blink, while great in general, will likely just get you killed in a platforming puzzle.

oh thank god, i thought it was just me, i can climb down the rage meter now .

1 ReplyYeah, they suck. The three jumps are; too low, not high enough, and you're dead. I've reached level 20 with mine and I'm sick of my warlock. Jumping should just work, not take all the fun out of an "adventue".

Had same problem; was trying to jump like Hunter, by timing second jump. Read the post to quickly "double tap", then I took off like a jet plane!
-
I just got past this. If you are having trouble at the end of the bridge on your way to the second converter, try standing on the crate. Then double tap the jump and as you hit the button the second time give yourself some forward momentum. That allowed me to glide up and move on. Later there is a platform that seems truly out of reach, jump to the narrow ledge just below and to the right of it. Another double tap from there will do.

4 RepliesEdited by saltedH4SH3S: 11/1/2017 3:42:56 AMWarlock Jumping updated So the warlock jump can be tricky as I have learned after many failed attempts on the Titan moon platforms. Rizlax’s and Fenix LB’s comments were very helpful in seeing the ‘light’ of warlock jumping. Things I have discovered about warlock jumping: 1. The warlock cannot perform a “double/triple high jump” such as the Hunter. 2. The ‘magic’ of warlock jumping is understanding physics and button timing. 3. (removed) 4. Hitting the jump button during a glide jump will terminate the glide and the warlock will fall. 5. Practice the sacred warlock glide jump in the EDZ area starting in the old church before running off to anther planet in the main quest line (having all the jump skills is not required to master the drift jump). The Warlock Drift Jump Made Simple: 1. The warlock drift can be started off from a walk/run and double tap of the jump button. (Airplane Style) 2. The warlock drift can be started off from a simple hop jump and on ground return quickly double tap the jump button. (Skipping Style) 3. The warlock drift can be started from a standstill and double tap the jump button (Harrier Style) 4. The warlock drift can be maintained (for a bit) and elevated from returning drifts downward toward solid geometry (platform/standing ledge) by the double tap of jump button. (Moon Hop Style). The warlock glide jump is not hard once the muscle memory and timing is figured out. I hope this little write up helps the new leveling warlock who is looking for a straight descriptive answer. Again the biggest tip I can give is practice in EDZ before running off world.

Same story here! My husband laughed at me(his main warlock of caures!) because is not possible for me to jump with the warlock char... men i already got two other chars (Titan , Hunter) this char won't jump for any reason.Try to tap A fast (he sad to me) and do not tab it again until near the ground. I use the first jump of warlock with this tip you may be able to jump in most of the platforms with no problem. Also try to get some speed before you jump. That helps too!Good Luck :)

2 RepliesSorry mate but your just bad at the game My friend has two warlocks and has finished the campaign on but characters git gud
-
2 RepliesI've seen a lot of these posts and I don't understand how double tapping jump is beating people. You double tap jump (similar to the speed of a mouse double click) while running forward. Then you soar into the air like a majestic eagle, rising higher and higher. Unleashing hell and fury on your enemies, laughing as you fly over their heads, exploding their brains with a hailstorm of bullets and space magic. Then when you want to come down, tap jump. Up to 2 additional glides can be achieved on the descent by tapping jump once again. This depends on how long you have been in the air for. Take loot. Do a dance.

1 ReplyDunno what you're talking about tbh
-
If you you jump a little short of a ledge and hold a it will pull you up. If you are not even close to making the jump then you're probably jumping for the wrong platform.
-
If it's the part I'm thinking of, there should be a door next to the platform you're on, that you need to shoot through some paper-like hive mucus to get through
-
I'm a warlock and I honestly can't even think of what part you're talking about.
-
3 RepliesYou're not alone. I'm struggling with the warlock in the exact same place. It seems no matter how I try to double tap it never works. When I want to just jump normally then I find I do the high jump. It makes little to no sense at all to me. I have played many platformers and have no problem jumping in those

Look for a different way, I didnt get stuck with this but just contact Bungo
