The pyramid structures that the traveler awakened by his light surge is the darkness! No it is not a theory, why? check the intro of the game ( https://youtu.be/xXDmX5rJC8E ) begin watching at 0:50, noticed something? the shadow for example? yup that's the darkness. what do you think guys?

What if it is another species that the light used to be with? Cause if d2 we know the traveler was on in for a bit, what if the pyramid is from a place that the light used to be then left so they have been searching for it, or even when the light left they were corrupted by the darkness. It would make it more fun I think

2 Repliesand the "darkness" switch on the lights on its spaceship? makes no sense imo
-
3 RepliesIf it's another hive expansion I'm -blam!-ing done. The hive have been so overused throughout the entirety of D1 and I'm so glad they're not in the spotlight anymore. The other enemies need deeper expansion and lore also guys.
-
It makes sense if the pyramids are the 'darkness' as referred in D1 or the travellers 'ancient enemy' referred in D2 The traveller is spherical and white and the 'ships' Are trianglar based pyramids and black, plus they were chilling in the darkness of the void of the universe outside galaxies
by his light
Did you just assume the travelers gender?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

10 RepliesEdited by ThyGreatestFlame: 9/7/2017 8:45:46 PMHere are my thoughts on it: Considering these pyramid-ships only activated upon sensing the Traveler's Light, we know that they were seeking the Light. They could be some new race yet unheard of. They could also be the Nine; though the Nine are located in the Jovians and these ships are way outside the Solar System, so this is incredibly unlikely. They could be the fleet of one of Oryx's sisters, Savathun being the most likely considering her people are already in our system. It would make sense for her to wait outside the system, away from any possible lookouts, and to send scouts into the system that her brother died in, to get the lay of the land. The Hive are also chasing the Light to snuff it out. Or it could be their masters, the Darkness itself, in its original form, not through any agents or medium. This is the most exciting, and most interesting to me personally, because the next two DLCs are about Rapsutin and Osiris. Rasputin fought the Darkness himself, and somewhat looks up to it, and Osiris is notorious for wanting to understand the Darkness. All in all, I already want to see what happens next.

5 RepliesWhat about Savathun? The named taken during the Io mission was named Herald Of Savathun.
-
Duh! Originally in D1 we were supposed to find out that the Traveler and the Darkness are one. The Awoken have always known this and the Queen and her bro were trying to stop the speaker.
-
Here's my take this game is all about the light and what it means to be chosen; those ships are far outside our system in another galaxy so I'm guessing that could be the physical embodiment of the darkness. We're the physical embodiment of the light so it kinda makes since but what really worries me is they look a lot more powerful than we are
-
2 RepliesI think the Darkness is a force like the Light. And I think whatever's in those ships might be the Darkness' answer to Guardians
-
Those ships were originally shown in concept art about a year before D1 came out. Glad to see they are finally making an appearance. Most people thought back then that would belong to the Hive, but there is no telling who they are.

1 ReplyThe video said the traveler destroyed his enemies in his sacrifice so I think it would be the nine because we have been teased every since cur appeared and it would make sense. We get to find a shit load of exotics at our disposal with cool perks
-
1 ReplyIt's probably just savathun's crew
-
Am I the only one who thought about the robots in ME andromeda? Their ships look alike
-
7 RepliesEdited by HyperDrive70: 9/7/2017 12:39:55 AMthe ships are the architects right?

3 RepliesSpoiler warning: continue at your own risk!
I'm still excited to find out more about how the Traveler LITERALLY DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE IT FELL ASLEEP. Ya know, when he destroyed his cage thing?
-
Pyraminds are probably the darkness manifested
-
1 ReplyThe evil council....
they're French
-
2 RepliesI'm just happy that the concept art from D1 became a thing in D2. We've been waiting for the pyramid ship people for so long.
-
Maybe they're a race of things that are like the Traveler?
Weird to think about pyramids and spheres having wars in space.
-
OKay maybe perspective plays a big part in this... BUT, they have to be something much bigger than any enemies we've seen... something new. They looked to be the size of multiple PLANETS. That's massive. I honestly just hope it's much more complex, epic, and new, not like Crota reborn for the billionth time... Maybe has something to do with osiris because of the pyramid shape..
-
I think it could possibly be the darkness too from that instance and the heavy symbolism that when you see them in the post credit scene, they show up as a shape of darkness, literally a starless void in space. I would like this to be a very old very ancient threat because i do really like that the scope of time in this game. Like how many guardians have been alive for centuries through the cycle of death and resurrection. Also I love the constant mystery as to what exactly the traveler is. This new campaign refered to it heavily as a machine and this was interesting because i never gave any thought to if the travelor is just a machine, then who built it? All questions that will hopefully be the focus of the story of this game here on out.

8 RepliesSomething ancient and related to the traveler and the deep. Not the darkness itself.
-
I hope they're big Vex warships, or a new race
-
1 ReplyAs soon as I saw the stars being blocked out by something in front I instantly thought of those ships from the concept art and then they came up and I instantly knew that they were the darkness. It also makes sense that they took out references to the darkness being a unifying force so that bungie can bring them in as a species next in the story.
-
Damn. You're right. But what exactly could they be? It could be the Nastareth. Something the Hive know about
