Dear Bungie,
There are several confirmed reports of players with physical copies in timezones that are still locked, who are already able to access your servers and play.
Could you remove the restrictions on the digital copies so those of us who went with that can play?
Good luck with the D2 launch!

I say good for those lucky physical copy owners. Must have been a pleasant surprise for their copy to come in a day early and let them get playing. My digital preorder will unlock at midnight UK time. I can wait and don't grudge them a few bonus hours. -
Bump again

2 RepliesEdited by xilxad: 9/5/2017 10:08:51 PMBump! Come on Bungie, digital preorders are the best case scenario for you guys. We pay full price and you save a bundle. No manufacturing cost, no distribution cost and we add to the all mighty pre-order cash pool. Give us a solid and let us play. Thank you.

2 RepliesSpend time with your family while you're waiting because you're not going to be seeing them once D2 launches.

1 ReplyI'm glad Americans are already playing... Less in line for me tonight....

1 ReplyI've been playing for hours. Guess trump couldn't make america that great

I've waited an entire year. I can wait a few more hours.

2 RepliesIts funny cause all the streamers said they got special permission to stream the game krafty gothalion and bro special treatment honestly feels bad
-
4 RepliesYa at this rate my timer is set to after midnight... Which, I thought the whole point of the "rolling" release was that the game unlocks in each timezone as they hit midnight.

I was told I was a whiny kid for saying essentially the same so good luck with the post. I agree with you 100%, I'm pretty frustrated over it.

D2 is the top game in ps right now. Last I checked over 1000 people streaming and tons of them were Americans.

1 ReplyI honestly don't care about them getting it early, it's not like people have never played a game before me. But the dumbest thing about all this is that Bungie has been so tight lipped about everything, so as not to spoil it before release only to have streamers showing all the content before everyone can play it. Obviously, I am not saying that those in the countries that the game is already released shouldn't stream, it is the fact american streamer have it and are streaming. I've only been on youtube because I wanted to see if they made any changes to character creation (they haven't) but there are many american you tubers right now live streaming.

Seversand is the worst. Can never get it all out.

8 RepliesEdited by Tibbaryllis2: 9/5/2017 3:27:46 PMIf you've learned anything from Destiny 1 then it should have been that Bungie's servers are not region locked. Because of this, Bungie cannot restrict access to North American and European players without also restricting access in the regions that have already released the game. The time gate is not Bungie's, it is Microsoft/Sony/Activision's contracted date. This time gate is enforced based of where your console was, or reported it was, at the time of digital purchase. A person in North America would have purchased their digital copy through a North American XBL/PSN server and thus are gated to the NA launch date (midnight eastern). The problem isn't Bungie or Microsoft/Sony/Activision in this case, but rather vendors who knowingly broke the street date release on their physical copies. It's people like that who will end up deserving 100% of the blame when this behavior is cited as one reason physical copies will, eventually, no longer be available on many titles. By the way, knowingly breaking the release date, and getting caught, is a $10,000 fine.

3 RepliesThey should have to wait just like everyone else
-
It's intentional to hype the game. Get people more excited for it. Bungie doesn't make mistakes that don't work to their advantage.... Coincidence? I think not.
-
Is it really that big of a deal to wait a few more hours? I'm sure you can find some way to pass the time.
-
1 ReplyBoo -blam!-ing hoo! A few hours won't hurt you.

Its a thing called having connections or the developrs themselves gave them permission its not that hard to ask but cry away
