I know questions like this get asked a dozen times of day or more. But, I'm so conflicted between choosing these two classes, warlock and titan, that I feel compelled to throw my hat in the ring.
I largely played hunter in D1, but other than having my favorite class cosmetic, I don't feel there's much reason to play one in D2. I don't particularly care for Arcstrider. Gunslinger has always felt like the weakest super in the game. And Nightstalker is one of my least favorite classes to play.
I've hopped back and forth between a low level Warlock and Titan this week and I am actually a bit sad I didn't come to my senses sooner. Hunter, at least for me, is far inferior. That said, I'm having trouble choosing. I really like the revamped Striker and totally dig Voidwalker. So, the decision, more or less, comes down to which class (not subclass necessarily) solos content better? (I wouldn't know because I never got my hands on the beta.) Obviously they'll both be great for groups. So, I want to know which will afford me the greater survivability and solo success?

1 ReplyEdited by Alucard: 9/4/2017 9:26:30 AMBest solo PvE class will definitely be Attunement of Hunger Voidwalker. I have no doubts about that: Played to many MMOs/RPGs not too see how that tree perks will turn out: You can heal fully consuming greande of heal fully using you melee. If you kill with melee or when you consume nade- you get 9 seconds of Devour Effect. While it is active each kill is healing you, recharging your grenade and reset your Devour to 9 seconds again (from 1 sec left to 9 again for example). So lets say you kill with melee, heal, Devour on, you throw nade a enemies- enemies get kill by it, reset Devour, heal, recharge grenade, you pull a sword (or stay with gun) and go to town and kill, throw that recharaged nade again, kills again (and all kills, again, heal you, reset Devour and your grenade). You are in tough spot? Well, just consume nade to heal yourself on emergency? Nade on CD? Well, melee someone and heal fully? Melee on cooldown? Well, we still have healing rift, eh? :D This will be probably best tank in game for any PvE heavy with Ads and yellows (especially with Sword and blink) Trust me- this will be the best class for solo PvE and best subclass for Sword using. You will storm through mobs with it. Remindes me of Melee Krieg in Borderlands 2 with his insane healing. For Team PvE using? Nightstalker, Sentinel and Stormcaller. But for Solo PvE- Hunger Voidwalker 100%.

For me, D1 as a warlock was the best option. However, now you can't self-resurrect, it'll be difficult to play solo, but, it'll be fun.

3 RepliesSry but for solo hunters still are the best. Celestial nighthawk is back

4 RepliesSentinel imo probably the best solo. 2 shields that completely mitigate ALL incoming damage...suppression nade for shutting down enemy abilities ( think taken captain blind orbs and stuff) and did I forget to mention both shields do damage do the total dmg output of titans is insane. And when you choose to shield bash....it heals you

As someone who has played all three classes moderately extensively in D1, and with the apparent similarity of D2 classes to D1 classes, I'd absolutely have to recommend Warlock. Don't get me wrong. Titan is a solid choice, and the new Sentinel subclass looks like it could really give Warlocks a run for their money. But at their core (quite ironically, given the thematic choices for each class), Titans have generally lacked the survivability of Warlocks for a few different reasons. I think this was really exaggerated in D1, but it appears to be present in D2 as well, particularly in comparison with the Voidwalker. In D1, once I finally switched to Warlock, I almost exclusively played Voidwalker and Stormcaller (the latter more for PvP than PvE)

1 ReplyI personally like the warlock. I think the Voidwalker is so great for taking out a ton of enemies at once. Switching between the healing rift or the rift for more weapon damage is super great also.
