Hi Bungie,
Big fan of Destiny 1, very much looking forward to playing Destiny 2. I would just like to ask for some reasoning behind the release time/date that you decided on for the raid. This comes from the perspective of someone who lives in EST zone and works during the day, meaning I will miss the raid launch. I don't imagine to be so entitled that the raid launch should conform to my exact schedule, of course not (unless $100 will change your mind, eh?), but I can't help wondering if a different date/time would make the raid launch accessible to more players.
Putting myself in your shoes, I can understand the time being morning in the US, because that would be evening for your European players. If you did evening US, most European players would be asleep and it would be an inconvenient time for them to try the raid. So I see one reason for the time, although it's a bummer for gamers who work during the day in US. I can also see a reason for the Wednesday release. I know Destiny 1's weekly cycle started on Tuesday, so it makes sense to open the raid near the beginning of the Destiny week. However, would it be that bad to have the release be later in the weekly cycle? Like a Saturday or Sunday? If the raid opened over the weekend, most 40-hour workers would be able to play. If the only downside to that is being so late in the cycle, I don't see how that holds more weight...
I will play the raid when I can, I will enjoy it, and I will enjoy all of Destiny 2. No doubt about that. Again, I'm not so delusional to believe that Bungie will change their raid launch for me. I'm just honestly curious how the time and date were decided upon. What reasons have I missed that make Wednesday a good choice? No matter what, you've made a great game. Destiny 1 kept me entertained for thousands of hours, I'm sure Destiny 2 will as well. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making Destiny.

So they should give up there weekends so you don't have to wait to get home from work to play? Sounds fair

self entitled little crybaby

1 ReplyRight here, 20th Seotember: Need 2 for Leviathan, must know what to do. I'll still be looking at the scenery.

It really doesn't matter what time or day the raid drops. Someone like you will always whine & cry about it. The raid will never drop at a time that will satisfy everyone.
-
What does it matter? If it drops during the weekday at midnight? You can still do it on the weekend in the afternoon. It just gives you a chance to do it earlier. You even have a slight advantage. As people who have done it will likely have figured a lot of the things out and you won't have to figure out the mechanics. You'll just have to learn and adapt to them. Contrary to popular belief it wasn't fun fighting Atheon having no idea what is happening.

Why would they release the game after Labor Day? My guess is probably so they don't have to work weekends and after hours to fix bugs and stuff if they show up quickly
-
2 RepliesProbably on a weekday for the same reason that destiny is released on Wednesday - because they don't want to overload the servers like what happened for the launch of rise of iron
-
3 RepliesThe raid and trials launches for the first time on their regularly scheduled day when Bungie is in office to confirm a smooth launch. 99.9999999% of players aren't remotely competitive for first, so launching on Tuesday gives 99.9999999% of players the full week to start and finish the week 1 raid. Perfectly reasonable.

Trials and a raid release on the same day? Just no! I'm glad they're being released separately!!!
-
OK so this year, instead of playing 3 hours a day for 7 weeks, then quit and wait for the next dlc, I can play 1 hours a day for 4 weeks and still do everything as its way easier and there are literally spoilers, leaks for every part of the game everywhere

I live in EST and will be slamming raid on drop. I prefer to have it on a weekday though. I am likely in the minority though.
-
I'm just curious why they kept it a secret this long. If you're gonna drop new content midweek, a little more notice would be nice.

2 RepliesWas hoping for a weekend release :/ Current release puts it at a crispy 2am for me in the middle of the week which I can't take off. This means that I either find and establish a good connection with a clan who will wait till the weekend for me to blind run or for my 4th raid in Destiny it will all be spoiled yet again :(

1 ReplyI'm guessing they didn't wanna release Trials and the raid on the same day unless they pushed the raid to Friday and made Trials the following week. Regardless Wednesday is perfect for me.

1 ReplySorry, missed the announcement, when is the raid out??
