A recommendation for Pc's mouse wheel
One of the very annoying problems on Pc is that I find myself (and I'm sure others do too) accidentally switching to a power weapon constantly instead of my kinetic or energy. I thought a good idea would be to make the mouse wheel only switch between kinetic and energy weapons, and have the power weapon be a different binding (like pressing the mouse wheel button). I find this very annoying when I try to change to my other weapons in the middle of a gun fight, but instead I switch to my power weapon and die. This isn't really a problem in PvE, but it's a problem in PvP, in my opinion. Thank you for reading :) I'm having a blast with the beta, and can't wait to see what you guys will do next.

Like the original comment said, just familiarize yourself with 1 2 3. Even better, find key bindings that are easier for you to hit while in combat. I just used the number bindings because it was way easier than having to scroll, due to things you mentioned lol.

3 RepliesYea, I ended up just pressing 1 and 2 to switch weapons. If they don't add it you could probably just change the scroll wheel to act like a 1 and 2 button.

4 RepliesYou must go to this location in file explorer: %appdata% then Bungie -> DestinyPC -> prefs then edit file cvars.xml Replace settings previous_weapon and next_weapon to be "unused!unused". Instead of them being "mouse wheel up!unused" and "mouse wheel down!unused". You can now map any other action to "mouse wheel up" and "mouse wheel down".

Yeah I barely used the wheel after that, so I just use 1 and 2 on the keyboard lol

You can actually remap the "Switch Weapon" to a mouse wheel "click". This way a single click will only change between Kinetic and Energy weapons, and holding will change to heavy weapon, just like console.

Normally the [~] key will swap between your kinetic and energy weapon. I rebound it to [z] to make it easier for myself to use, but I would love to see something like this implemented.

Yeah have the same annoyance. Maybe set mouse wheel to the same as ~ and then just use 3 for power weapon. But that's assuming ~ just switches between kinetic and energy.

This isn't a problem in PVE at the moment haha. It will be though.
