Does anyone have any tips on what I can do to make this game playable for myself for more than 10 minutes at a time? I have tried messing with all kinds of settings and I can't seem to get it to where I can enjoy it.
I played Destiny 1 on Xbox one and I could handle that, but trying to play this on PC it seems like no matter what I do with my settings I can't seem to make it playable so I won't get sick.
Please if anyone has any ideas let me know. I really want to play this game on PC, but if I have to cancel my pre order and get it on console I will.

1 ReplyEdited by TheArtist: 8/28/2017 9:53:43 PMRemember, the frame rate for Destiny on Xbox 1 is 30 fps. So unless you spend a lot of time either playing games on PC, or playing the small number of shooters that run at 60 fps on consoles, odds are you are used to seeing games---and other animation---- run at 30 fps. If that's the case, then the experience of going to much higher framerates is jarring and could be the cause of your nausea. I know when I try to play Halo 5 on my Xbox the combination of the higher frame rate and the heavy texture popping and other compromises 343i made to hit 60 fps within the limits of what the Xbox could handle, actually gives me a headache and makes me mildly nauseous. Though I can tolerate the smoother animation of games like Overwatch and Titanfall 2 on my PS4 Pro much better....I'm still aware enough of the change in frame rate for it to be annoying at first. If lowering your frame rate doesnt' help, try playing with a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard. Mouse and keyboard movement is unnatural and "stair-steppy. Causing really janky movement that can be so off-putting (again if you aren't used to it) that simply watching someone play really fast using mouse-and-keyboard can make me slightly nauseous....and I dont' get motion sick as a general rule. A controller should help because the joysticks will allow for more natural curves and and smoother transitions that should be less prone to making you sick. Since you have an Xbox one, all you'll need to do is grab your USB charging cable that came with your controller...and just use it to plug into one of your USB ports on your PC....configure...and you're good to go. I would try these changes at first...and see if they help. You can gradually work your way up to higher frame rates as you can tolerate....and work with learning mouse and keyboards on games that arent' first-person shooters before transitioning to them. But one of the reaons why I left PC gaming to go back to consoles was because I didn't like the experience of playing action games with mouse and keyboard. Its not for everyone...and dont' assume it make you magically better.

I'm not very knowledgeable about this, but what I can do is ask if you have prior experience playing games on the PC.

Edited by Sheogorath: 8/29/2017 11:03:08 AMThis sub forum is for non-gaming and Destiny topics. Might wanna remember that so #offtopic doesn't bite your head off. As for your question, try turning off motion blur. That's probably the source of your nausea.

Turn off motion blur and perhaps even lower your sensitivity.

3 RepliesReduce your mouse or controller sensitivity so your view doesn't jolt around a lot. Try wearing those yellow glasses that help with eye fatigue. Take a Dramamine or other motion sickness medication. There are ones that work really well for boating and flying, you put this thing behind your ear, I forget what it's called. Have a solid color background behind your monitor, and sit a bit further away from the screen. If you wanna go totally crazy, try wearing a rag that has been soaked in cold water around the back of your neck and have a tub of ice water on the floor and keep your feet in it. Also run a humidifier and a fan. Ideally, a ceiling fan on maximum.

Edited by LittleLight: 8/29/2017 4:26:17 AMI also started playing on pc a month ago. I tried to connect a controller and then stay about 3-4 feet away from the monitor. It helps me :l
If that doesn't help

Try Xbox.com
