Error code: Spinach
Error code: spinach happens to me after helping Zavala out in the courtyard. It's the same thing i had on the Xbox beta but then it was called error code: moose. Any fix for this ? 2nd beta i can't play now :(
EDIT: I did the whole port forwarding thing and that helped a bit for me. I can now see Ikora. Still getting spinach error on the next loading screen, so i didn't make it that much further.
EDIT: Fixed by using mobile hotspot from my phone.

1 ReplyEdited by HopedWall: 8/29/2017 6:15:31 PMHaving the same error, I'll provide some more info so that Bungie can sort it out: - Had "Moose" error on console beta (both Xbox One and PS4), solved it by enabling PPPoE (on PS4) and using a mobile hotspot (on Xbox One). On PC using a VPN solves the issue (but latency becomes too high to play PvP...) - Happens on both PvE (cannot complete the first mission, sends me back to orbit either at Zavala, Ikora or after the cutscene) and PvP (map does not load and It makes me return to orbit; however in PvP it does sometimes work just fine, perhaps it has to do with being the host of the match) - I am using a Technicolor tg789vac v2, UPnP is enabled but from the config page I cannot disable the built-in firewall (can only set it to "light mode"). Using a DMZ does not help either. I've also tried turning off the firewall on PC but it's still not working. - Using cable connection instead of wifi does not help

4 RepliesI have confirmed using a VPN to connect to a US country (California) works. Had same issue where getting to cutscene before landing on cabal ship and i get the error "spinach", tried firewall, and modem settings for hours but nothing. For some reason using a VPN as directed above works just fine.

3 RepliesThis is totally making me go insane. So I have to call my ISP and ask them to help me set up a PPOE connection or something (which costs money) because I have no idea what I'm doing as the port forwarding didn't work. And I don't have a wireless connection so using the hotspot fix won't work. I shouldn't have to do jump through hoops to play a game I payed full price for. The beta is short so we've already wasted the "24 hour head-start" that incentivised people to pre-order in the first place. It's 4 A.M. for me and I haven't touched anything besides the starting mission; haven't gotten passed Zavala's courtyard. I've been planning and hyping the beta up for months to my stream and now I can't even progress. FeelsBadMan.

I just asked my friend to do the part for me because he didn't have the error code. so you can ho straight into orbit. and for me it works now.

Same here, and I had the exact same issue on PS4 beta. Help Zavala in the Plaza, and then never meet Ikora and there are no NPCs that spawn.

The advanced troubleshooting section couldnt help. Anyway, i dont know why my connection would the problem when i have ALL my games running just fine... and just having to change some settings in my router just for Destiny 2 ;-)

So, for the people without unlimited mobile data and people like me, who have a poor mobile connection (close to none) there is no fix and i just preordered a 90 euro game without being able to play it, very nice please bungie, fix soon...

Have had the exact same issue since the very release of the beta, seriously frustrating, makes you have to restart over and over, could do the opening mission with my eyes closed by now, fix bungie pls

Problem finally solved! I would advise everyone experiencing this to reboot their routers and maybe reboot their PC's. Should work! Good luck guys! (And yes, I have a Technicolor router - seems like a trend!)

Argh, I hoped i could play the game these 3 days but I encountered the error Spinach and I can't continue after Zavala.

Same for me except I managed to get past the door at some point but it happened again when I got to the loading screen after the cutscene. I'm playing on PC.

3 RepliesI think i might have found a "Fix" if you are lucky and nobody connects to your lobby during the plaza mission you can continue without the error. if not keep fighting some guys untill the other guys get spinached out of your lobby and then you are free to go.
