Rabinowitz...on 26 April 1993...Nessus was officially announced on May 13, 1993, in IAUC 5789 with designation 1993 HA2.
It's not NESSUSarily a planet, more a 'centaur object;' an orbit between Jupiter and Neptune, close in size to what we commonly think of as asteroids but instead of rock, made of of ice and minerals like a comet but NOT classified as a comet: think asteroid and comet had an inter species baby and Nessus is the lovechild, not asteroid, not comet, somewhere in the middle according to our NASA/Illuminati overlords.
7066 Nessus has an orbital period of 122.4 years, an eccentricity of 0.52 and an inclination to the ecliptic of 15.6 degrees. At perihelion, it moves much closer to the Sun than Uranus, while at aphelion it moves out well beyond the orbit of Neptune.
Simply put: Yes, Nessus is real. It takes over 122 'Earth years' to orbit the sun and its movement is such that it gets closer and farther from the sun as it orbits; closer in than Uranus and farther out than Neptune. tl;dr Nessus is real. It's way the hell out there.
Sources: NASA, WIKIPEDIA, 5 min. On Google
4 RepliesIt's real but very different in game. Just like the majority of Destiny's planets after the Traveler and other aliens arrived.

It's a planetoid. It exists in real life, and you can find it based off the info from the comments of this thread.

You're confusing Nessus with Mrs. They're both in outer space though, I'll grant you that.
-
It's a planetoid the has an orbit that switches between Neptune and Uranus when they get close enough to each other.
-
1 ReplyYes, it exists somewhere in the Andromeda galaxy (our neighbor galaxy). Astronauts have visited it in 1957.

7066 Nessus is a real Centaur. At its closest its orbit takes it nearer to the sun than Neptune, and at its furthest is reaches the Kuiper belt.
-
It exists, but in order to make it a planet the Vex had to transform it drastically.

Edited by Trollefix: 8/27/2017 10:33:46 AMThere is a "minor planet" (centaur) called 7066 Nessus. But its not really a planet planet. More like an asteroid.

Info says its a Vex planetoid so I believe its an artificial construct of the Vex.
