"The provided clan name or clan tag is not acceptable, please choose another"
So I tried changing the "About Us" part of my clan. After I click "save" an error pops up that says, "The provided clan name or clan tag is not acceptable, please choose another". I never tried to apply changed to my clan name or clan tag, and there's nothing inappropriate that I was trying to add to my clan description. Anyone else having this problem?

Hey, it's 2022 and i'm having this very issue happen to me. I made a clan name, details etc and when I go to save it says I have profanity in the name which I don't lol. Also can two clan names exist even if they are on different platforms?

FIXED!!!!! Hey everyone I found the fix... So i ended up looking throught the description and I realized I used some profanity (ass,shit). After substituting these words for other words I was able to save and create my clan just fine. Hope this helps some people out!

Same error here! The clan has been created and the About Us filled in. We have a dozen members and are accumulating clan points and rewards. Tonight when we went to try out Guided Games and was prompted to add a Clan Motto and About Us. As I stated, the Clan Name and About Us are filled in and the Clan is working. When I try to add a Clan Motto, this error pops up. I'm assuming since the Clan does exist, we are receiving points, that this message is an error? Any word from Bungie on this issue?

5 RepliesFixed one problem, encountered two different ones. So I wanted to use the word "Righteous" in the clan name. Fail. Tried every variation of special character. Fail. Used "Right" only, as a name - success... but name is already taken. Fail. Geezuz. Ok... so I made up a RANDOM clan name I didn't want... SUCCESS!!! It let me create the clan! wow! Ok. Then I go to the settings page and edit the clan name BACK TO EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. No problem. Works. Use special characters? Works. Whaaat the ffu.... ok, whatever. But NOW, two more problems: 1. I can't search my new edited name (or the stupid random one actually). So nobody can find the clan I created although I can login to it and see it just fine. 2. ABSOLUTELY can't figure out how to add members. Set it to OPEN, had buddy click JOIN UP... it did nothing and no response on the admin pages for me. Ridonkulous.

Also same. Having to make a new clan due to our old clan leader being gone, can't because of this issue.

So it seems there is a limit to the characters or words that can be place in the "About" section. I had 3 paragraphs and got this error, took 2 away and it allowed a save. Try saving with the fullstop or a sentence it seems to be erratic at this point :/ Hope this helps Guardians.

I'm having the same issue. Also can't access any admin tools on my phone. Have to use my PS4 browser to do anything. I'm assuming (see: hopeful) these issues will be ironed out by the time 2 hits.

Has anyone had any luck with this so far? I've just spent an hour working on my description and motto only to find I can't save anything. Annoying.

1 ReplyUPDATE: Okay guys, so I worked on fixing it by deleting 1 word from my clan description and then trying to save it. I kept doing this one word at a time (starting from the end of the paragraph) then attempted to save. For me, it looks like the word "wolf" wasn't allowed (which I had mentioned twice in the bio). But after I took it out, it saved just fine. And it has a total of 575 characters in the description. I hope you guys try this method to find any words that might not be allowed in your clan bios! Best of luck to you all! And I hope your clans are up and running by Sept. 6th!!!
