While I think master Ives has some of the best Voice work in Destiny one, you can't do the exact same voice for a completely different character in the sequel!
By all means give the actor more work, but not with the exact same voice. Every single time Kay speaks, it breaks the immersion and becomes a sarcastic punchline. Feels bad man.

5 RepliesMore Bungie laziness.

6 RepliesYou know what gets me ..... the EDZ is set in germany so why do we have a guy that sounds like he's from the u.k. bungie has some strange taste in voice actors lol
-
3 RepliesStill, IDGAF...Mel Blanc did many different voices for Disney.

5 Repliesin the time it took to make this post google would have told you they are two different voice actors

Every single time Kay speaks, it breaks the immersion and becomes a sarcastic punchline.
I think you are overreacting.

7 RepliesWell seeing as how Master Ives is voiced by Gideon Emery and Devrim Kay is voiced by Iain Glen I'd say it's safe to assume there's no mistake being made by Bungie...

1 ReplyDifferent actors. Same accent. High-class English. The location is Europe, so the accent is appropriate. Bungie probably figure that it would be easier for more people to understand----especially American English speakers----than someone speaking with a German accent.

Agreed. Sounds absurd. If it is different actors (as stated below) then someone at Bungie wants them to imitate the same annoying English posh public school accent, because it sounds identical

skyrim does it and that game can be pretty immersive. Also anyone notice a lot of musicians today within a given genre and gender sound very similar?

4 RepliesEdited by xilxad: 8/25/2017 3:50:21 PMYes, but to bungie it felt like saving some cash, and they know we will all throw money at the screen anyway

3 RepliesWho are either of those characters?

Edited by Seraph: 8/25/2017 6:26:30 PMI'm not bothered by it. Maybe it's because I very rarely ever visit the Reef so my contact with Master Ives has been minimal, so even though I recognised the voice, I didn't know where I'd heard it before, at least not until I saw all the salty complaints. Obviously we aren't going to re-visiting The Reef anytime soon so rather than say goodbye to voice actor ( one that barely had any lines in the first place ) , Bungie chose to write a new role for him, an expanded role. It is disappointing that the VA hasn't done enough to make Devrim sound different to Ives, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
