So what happened to Gear Manager and other Destiny 1 features?
Are they permanently gone or hidden away?
Without Gear Manager, how are we supposed to manage our inventory? The in-game vault access is very weak, cannot move individual items?
And not just the web site. My Destiny app (on android) no longer lists my guardians, so I cannot access the inventory. I have not tried it yet today (Thursday 08/24) but it did not work last night. Perhaps this was due to the (all day yesterday and into today) server maintenance, but I really do not know.
As far as I can tell, there has been no official Bungie response (News article, etc.) about removing Destiny 1 features & functionality. Are Destiny 1 users permanently screwed due to Destiny 2? Not cool if so.
PS: I know that there are third-party apps & web sites for managing gear. But I'd really prefer to stay with Bungie.net, both for security concerns and the fact that the (web) Gear Manager was an excellent tool.

1 ReplyI'll take it one step further. Why after three years to we still have to go outside the game to easily mange our gear?

14 Repliesyeah i just bought Destiny 1 and now everything is getting screwed. Not really encouraging me to buy D2. I've always wanted to play and i finally had the chance after it's been out for a while. This just kinda seems like crap to me. Can't migrate my character, can't use the app, etc.

7 RepliesWell, I just found a note that they are REMOVING Destiny 1 functionality. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/45967#Companion Looks like we will be forced to use third-party apps and web sites. I guess we're screwed.

Just use Ishtar Commander, best 3rd party one imo

So what is everyone using to track their weekly raid completion status? It was pretty handy to have that information at a glance to know which checkpoints to group for and to see what I've already done as to avoid running a completion for no rewards. Is there a 3rd party app for Android? I already use ishtar for inventory management but no idea about the tracker. Thanks!

Bungie Executive: "You know how our remaining players are only doing Raids?" Bungie Intern: "Yes, sir?" Bungie Executive: "I've been thinking..." *The Bungie Executive lights his cigar with a $100 bill* Bungie Executive: "I've been thinking, why don't we just make them harder? Like making it impossible to prepare after a wipe." Bungie Intern: "Why would we do that?" Bungie Executive: "Well, we can't let them get too geared up can we? What would be the point of buying our loot boxes then? And with Destiny 2 right around the corner we're going make a whole heap of cash, who cares about those losers who still play the first one?" Bungie Intern: "Isn't that counter-productive?" *The Bungie Executive chuckles to himself at the Intern's naivety* Bungie Executive: "Boy, you've got a lot to learn..."

im using destiny item manager as a substitute for gear manager
-
3 RepliesDownload Ishtar through your phones store. It's hands down better than Bungies app. It'll let you actually save your gear setup and switch all your gear out in one click. It's called loadout. Also, it shows you the weapon perks like range, Stability, damage, etc. using real numbers for comparison.
