"Ok guys we will need Snipers for this part, so one at a time go to Orbit and then join back after you switched out your guns. "
This is not fun and only wastes people time.
End.

3 RepliesEdited by Eternity: 8/26/2017 9:59:51 AMLocked loadouts don't apply to raids. As far as we know, Nightfalls are the only PvE activity that they will apply to (which will have very short time limits - if you waste up to a minute or two out of 15 going to orbit and coming back just to swap a gun, you're doing it wrong). I'd imagine perhaps all competitive pvp modes will also feature locked loadouts.

Artificial difficulty, bad game design. Bungie all over....
-
3 RepliesWas thinking of the same thing. Just watch there be a player lock out after you go to orbit.
-
2 Repliesyou may have a point, but like others have said, I can't actually remeber the last time i changed my loadout mid game in a nightfall, only raids, so you point is a bit invalid
-
1 ReplyMay even block you from going to orbit
-
In D1 everyone wiped and you could get round a lot of shit that way
-
if you want to see how bad this will be if implemented go to the acheivement section of D1 and see the amount of players who COMPLETED a nightfall. Now imagine how the LFG will now evolve into -Must have 'X' Energy weapon -Must have 'X' Heavy weapon -Must be able to do this and do that. More elitism will pop up and less people will play and that doesn't help anyone, if they had made loadout lock OPTIONAL, with addition rewards then I will be up for it or have a bounty like SUNRISE bounty but instead called LOCK AND LOADED which you complete the NF without changing loadouts will be a much better incentive. Already alot of things have been taken away from players coming from the D1 experience so this is just not a good idea considering you have access to less weapons than before at any point in the game.
-
Considering most times that I have ever gone in to Nightfall in D1, even when I was soloing them, I have only brought 1 load-out, this hardly seems like an issue. I have also never ran any activity where I needed to switch my loadout either, even in raids.

2 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 8/25/2017 8:29:12 PMSuch an obvious work around that you'd think Bungie would've accounted for it already. You probably can't join activities in progress that have locked loadouts, but who knows. To be honest you could go through every Nightfall in D1 with the same loadout pretty easily once you learn it, the same will happen in D2.
-
2 RepliesExactly. Absolutely pointless thing to have. Do you guys really trust the devs who add some retarded feature like that. It makes no sense. No one can bring up a valid point of why this is a good idea or if it adds to the challenge. No one.

14 Repliesthe problem I find with this is game fluidity....since you have only one power weapon, lockout will potentially make pick up groups harder than it should be, say you have a pick a sniper and the other guy who joined in has a better sniper and a bit more skill you may want to switch to a rocket launcher but cannot due to lock out. People say TEAM UP but truth is a crap ton of players just want to play the game without that, in D1 lots of players played nightfalls without mics and locking nf loadouts its just a weird decision.

"Ok guys we will need Snipers for this part, so one at a time go to Orbit and then join back after you switched out your guns. " This is not fun and only wastes people time. End.
Have you considered planning ahead? Player 1: sniper Player 2: add control Players 3: cqc Or any combination that allows a team to assign roles? And seriously, this is Destiny. The games not hard. By the time you play a NF, you'll have played that strike several times and should have a pretty good idea what to expect. And if you really need to change your loadout knowing what to expect, then it's a you problem.

I hope they block joining in progress. Cheering has always been frowned upon by the community but here you are proposing that people be lazy and not just think ahead and instead cheese what is a simple modifier to add something different to nightfalls.

"Ok guys we will need Snipers for this part, so one at a time go to Orbit and then join back after you switched out your guns. " This is not fun and only wastes people time. End.
You have learned the strategy. Now they will lock join in progress

5 RepliesEdited by RPColten: 8/25/2017 7:14:18 AMDoing the above stated in the original post would be the actual waste of time. If it's possible then that is on them for choosing to waste time instead of just coordinating as a team and preparing properly before hand. ...that and Nightfalls are timed so I doubt you'd want to waste 5 minutes on swapping gear after each encounter.
-
Since they're going to do this anyway it would be nice to know where we're going while in queue. I understand there is some time to change but more time would be appreciated.
-
Luckily it's not in the raids, and if people want to challenge themselves it is fun
-
You're right. That doesn't sound fun. So maybe instead you just complete the nightfall as intended?
-
4 RepliesLoad outs won't be locked for raids
-
1 ReplyProbably a way Bungie can counter that tactic.
-
3 RepliesHave they stated what they meant by locked loadout yet? Cause i havent seen anything stating exactly what they meant by it. I also havent done any research. To me, locked loadout could mean a few things. One, cant change the load out you fly in with. Two, you cant use specific weapons. Ie, no snipers/shotguns, everything else is fine. Or three, you have to use certain weapons. Ie, using D1 weapons, you MUST use suros, spindle, gally. Or select from a few options per category. Ie, primary is suros, mida, hawmoon, secondary is spindle, telesto, invective, and heavy is gally, thunderlord, or razelighter.

7 RepliesIt's a new challenge and I'm ok with a challenge. Everyone complains and asks for new and different mechanics for challenging strikes or boss fights, but when this is added it's all crying. I like the feel of preparing for a battle. It's more realistic that I can only carry 3 weapons down into battle and not my entire arsenal. Now we will be even more diverse in our roles on strikes. Lots of adds? "Jason, light 'em up with your rocket launcher!" That one has a weak spot? "Steve, break out the sniper rifle!" Void shielded yellow bar? "Kate, take this guy for me!"
-
1 ReplyThought they cleared this up, no locked loadouts in the raids?
-
You know the raid wont have the locked loadout and some of the nightfalls
-
Fusion rifles for everything.
-
I don't care, I can play with any weapon.
