This is most likely completely nonsensical, but what if we are Dr. Shim. In the archive mission, the computer greets us as doctor Shim. At first I thought that this was due to us being the first to enter and the computer was set go greet us as doctor Shim, but then I realized that the computer was able to see that the fallen, who came in the same way we did, were intruders.
Apologies. I have reread the grimoire and I am wrong about Dr. Shim being Zarin.

Maybe we are Dr.Shim (pre-collapse) DUN DUN DUN!

3 RepliesDr Shim was doing his research before the Collapse so before the Ghosts were created so could not have been a Guardian. Your ghost hacked the system (as Eris said "in it's last breath the Traveller created ghosts to open doors") using a code that matched Shim's but the Fallen entered using no ID codes so were labeled as intruders.

That whole story arc - Dr. Shim, the Archive, even the bits with the stranger felt like bits and pieces of a story thrown away. Have a feeling we will not be revisiting any of those elements.

I guarantee we aren't Dr.Shim. When Ghost got us into the lab, he must have entered us in under Dr.Shim's ID or something. After all, it's easier to trick the system rather than force your way through firewalls

We know that in the end Dr. Shim accompanied the rest of the research team on their expedition to use the 227 saved copies of themselves to explore the Vex network. Definitely, not a Guardian.
