I'm actually sickened by this. I understand not wanting it in a public space, but for gods sake [i]dont destroy it.[/i]
History, and the lessons it can impart, is sacrosanct. Move the damn thing to a museum. This has shades of ISIS actions in Palmyra.
Its wrong. Its reprehensible and I hope they get done for vandalism.

FFS, if it HAD to go, it deserved to be in a museum to preserve history! These -blam!-ing snowflakes just destroyed a statue in memoriam of the average Confederate soldier!
