Will we be allowed to swap weapons during wipes? If I'm dying because I have a bad weapon, can I swap it between wipes. Give us maybe 1 minute between spawns to change our loadouts, then it's a shut down.
Luke Smith said it was supposed to be like golf. Well, in Golf, if I'm failing with a club, wouldn't I want to change it? (I have no idea tbh, I hate Golf.)

1 Replyyeah i just saw an article and this concerns me a lot, like if it's just everything you have on your character at the moment of zoning into a strike then i'm fine with that (though i think subclasses can't be changed? idk that's what it sounded like) but if it's literally just the 3 weapons you have equipped then that would be a major annoyance unless they gave us a grace period when spawning into the strike.

It'll be locked until you go back to orbit. In that Edge magazine they stated they had to go back to orbit a few times to regroup to complete the nightfall. I'm cool with this as long as it's only activities like nightfalls and trials. If it's locked load outs on the Raid it'll either mean that the raid will be dumbed down, or Bungie is making it an activity were everyone has a specific job. Since they've taken a lot of the customization away from guns, armor, and sub classes to make "builds", I can't see the latter being the answer. But, if it's on Nightfalls, trails, etc. It'll add to the challenge. Hopefully more challenge means better rewards.

1 ReplyI read a post further down, and it makes sense. If going by that golf analogy alone it seems they would be eliminating the possibility of pulling weapons out from our vault during an activity...that you maybe can have a full character, change weapons and whatnot from what you already have on you, and once you start you cannot pull out weapons from the app. I don't know. Just speculation. Locking our weapons in place in a way we cannot change what we have makes no sense, and for sure does not sound fun. I can handle a "you can only take what you can carry" approach. No probs with that.

Locked loadouts would only make sense in a game mode where you don't know what to expect. If you know what you are expecting (a typical strike or story mission) then you equip your loadout in orbit and fly in. There is very little reason to keep changing during the event. If you don't know what to expect you have to make choices / guesses before you start. That would be a challenge, especially if joining the event once it started was locked out and restarting meant a different random event.

4 RepliesI just pray the raids won't have locked loadouts. It will be very bad if they are
-
They need to define "load out". Is my load out my 3 equipped weapons or everything I'm carrying?
-
2 RepliesWhile I love the idea of locked loadouts, it will be quite tedious in raids because players will be constantly going to orbit.... In PvP it makes a lot of sense though.

1 ReplyIn golf, you're only allowed to carry up to fourteen clubs at once. Once the game starts, you're not allowed to change out those clubs. So based on what you said and the 'golf' analogy, I would think that once you enter the Lockout, your weps. & armor (your clubs) are locked, cannot change them out.

It's clear already, and no we don't need further clarification because we want to experience it in game.

3 RepliesIt seems every time he opens his mouth the game dies a little more! 😳

2 RepliesOnce u die, go to orbit, change loadout, fly back in

I think the whole idea of locked loadouts one more stupid idea coming out of that pea brian moron luke smith that needs to be shut down before they extend it to everything in game. This idea of placing more restrictions on player has got to stop it bad enough with the restrictions on exotic class gear without this I couldn't care less about pvp in how many weapons that people say that they are to op but if it directly affects pve as a whole then I do have a problem with it

I would assume that once you hit "Launch", you're locked. If they decided to carry it into the Raid, I could see it being used when an encounter is started. E.g. Dropping Golgoroths play ball.

1 ReplyEdited by Sepia: 8/14/2017 9:33:40 AMI've played my fair share of golf. No, each club has its own purpose, irons for fairway, 56 for getting on the green, sand wedge for sand bunkers. You can have a favorite club but using a putter on your tee shot won't work. Maybe locked loadouts will force us to pick the right club for the shot we want to make. If you ask me it's a terrible idea if they plan on implementing it in raids, especially if it's your first time on launch day and no one knows what to do. Hopefully they will contain it to Trials, Weekly Heroics and MAYBE Heroic raids. Otherwise Luke Smiths statement would've made absolutely 0 sense. How would we know what club to pull out of our bag if we don't know if we're hitting our tee shot or putting it in for par?

That's the point of a locked loadout. you have to think about what you need before you start a game. if you could change it after a wipe, might as well change it during the game.

4 RepliesEdited by Sky: 8/14/2017 8:34:32 AMI can imagine, not. Once in the nightfall, or whatever activity you are doing that has a locked load out, you can not change your load out, not even when you are dead.. I imagine you have to end the activity and go to orbit to change loadouts. It would be a little silly if just being dead made it so you can change your loadout, would make the locked load out thing a bit pointless if that was a thing. There is also the new death penalty that we are not sure what it is yet.. But can you imagine just to get around the locked load out, people just killing them selves? It would be pretty stupid and pointless.
