The more I hear about this game, the more excited I get about it! I know, in this community it's a crime to be hyped by a Bungie product.
EDIT: Fixed the title.

1 ReplyEasy to make 80 activities. Note: what follows are spoilers for much of the Destiny 1 campaign. Step 1: Load planetary destination Step 2: Fight through random ads Step 3: Reach a door/computer Step 4: Guardian takes out ghost to enter or download information Step 5: Ghost informs guardians this hack will take time Step 6: Guardian will fight two or three waves of ads of progressively higher difficulties while the ghost hacks and makes occasional banter Step 7: Door is opened or download is complete. Mission Complete: new area unlocked/sparrow is now accessible/or new information located. Step 8: Repeat 79 more times.

Let's see. Each subclass has 8 skills to unlock for their two paths. 9 subclasses x 8 missions to unlock That's 72 right there. Sounds about right.

28 Replies"Guardian, you need to run down this hallway and kill the big version of a regular enemy at the end" .... "Great job. Now start from where you fought that guy and run the other way and kill a big version of a different regular enemy" I'm just not buying it. After the first one there's no way its going to be more than a 6 hour campaign with much of a variety of maps or enemies. I'd love to be proven wrong in September, but until then I'll believe it when I see it.

Sweet 😎🤙

just keep in mind that there is already TWO dlc/cut content waiting on the side. i bet donoughts to dollars that those missions are included. and social spaces. and raids/strikes. and holiday events. just don't blow your wad earlier than you meant to. don't hold your breath, either.
-
3 RepliesNeed I point out that that includes story, strikes, and the various patrol activities. Don't keep your expectations high, it'll bite you in the ass later.
-
1 ReplyThe all caps for "AND" makes me think that OP thinks this means the 80 missions are separate from the PvE activities. Destiny 2 will not have 80 missions. It will have 80 PvE activities and some number of these will be missions.
-
I can't wait to start from scratch again. Explore new places and level up my toon. Get crap loot at first and work up from there. I missed that a lot. I've been 400 for so long I miss the excitement of leveling up. Drop me back in the cosmo with just a Khvostov 5 and tupperware on my head any day... I miss the grind, there I said it.
-
3 RepliesThe "80" will include public events, and each version of PVP. But it would t matter if it had only 10 missions. We will all buy it and give it chance. The rest of the posts to the contrary are just white noise.

12 RepliesQuality over quantity
-
3 RepliesQuality > quantity
-
5 RepliesI could be wrong but I don't think you get it all at once.
-
2 RepliesBefore you get too hyped, think about all the ways they can inflate that number using difficulty, enemy types, patrol missions etc.
-
2 RepliesBUT THIS GAME IS ALL ABOUT PVP!?!????, Brain. CANT. handle. break...down of...... Con...firmation bi...as....
-
Its funny because people think this is a big deal just because d1 had a shit story, when in reality this is actually still pretty underwhelming compared to any other decent game. Considering how the missions will all be "go somewhere, shoot someone", 80 missions/ pve activities (so really <80 missions) isn't very exciting.
-
9 RepliesRather have 2 good raids and no missions.
-
4 RepliesThe moment you realize they're all the same. Walk down a hall killing enemies -> come to a door -> kill 3 waves of enemies while your ghost opens door -> walk down another hallway killing enemies -> kill a bigger reskinned version of the same enemies as your boss.
-
If this is true I am excited for this even though I think there are some problems with the game.

3 RepliesEdited by BIGwillestylz: 8/14/2017 6:13:04 PMBe careful because in a week if pre sale numbers drop it will have 280 pve missions. Bungie is in sell mode so they will tell you whatever it takes for you to "throw money at the screen"
-
3 RepliesI'd say it's more like 40 missions since they love to take a mission and reverse it and tell u it's "new content".
-
2 RepliesGo ahead and spread those missions out among the 3 classes. Theres your real number. 1/3 is my guess

Edited by TwigTwig: 8/14/2017 10:54:11 PMI thoroughly enjoyed running and scanning things in the strike. PvE will be brilliant. 😉

I would be satisfied with a Taken King style story, and I haven't been nearly as concerned as others regarding PVE in Destiny 2. It'll be fine and will likely include much more depth than vanilla. Personally, I was always most concerned with PVP. I may be in the minority, it seems, but I never really got into the Crucible. I played enough, but it was always more frustrating than fun. PVE was entertaining enough for me, and I liked doing patrols back in Y1 and grinding. But I will say I'm more excited for PVP than PVE based on the beta. While it seems like most were complaining about supers and abilities taking too long to charge, I was loving it. It felt good. Much more refined than vanilla. If the release version is as good, I'll be a happy camper. Don't get me wrong though, I welcome more PVE content and will put days into it. But when it's done...on all three characters...I need some PVP action that's funny and ready to satisfy my hunger until more story content drops.

1 ReplyAnd after you done all 80missions in 2 or 3 weeks back to pvp 😂😂😂😂👌 bungie pvp
-
I can't wait either. I'm Looking forward to those Lost Sectors in patrol. There's just something about the unknown that I can't pass up the ability to explore.

2 Replies80 missions and activities may sound great, but this is actually concerning given bungie's track record with D1. Did they just cram a bunch of missions to make it seem like there is actual campaign content to make up their blunder with D1? Quantity does not equal quality. Sure the cinematics in the homecoming mission were neat, but is that level of detail consistent throughout the main story missions? More importantly will the missions be coherent and consistent and actually tie into the story and lore properly or will we get another "I don't have time to explai... a -blam!- it" situation again full of plot holes and a huge why. D1's issue was lack of content at launch. seeing how they handled content you can't hold the claim of " 80 mission plus activities at launch" on a pedestal. It could turn out that most of the missions are are no longer then a couple minutes ehm see Restoration mission in D1... All we can do is wait and see.
