Destiny 1 to be shut down permanently yes or no?
So was wondering for those who bought the first game will the online features of destiny 1 be permanetly shut down. If this happens will there still be a pve that destiny owners can play that does not require a online connection to be used. I have to not bought the destiny 1 but I got destiny 2. I was wondering if destiny 1 will still be playable after destiny 2. Even if the player base in destiny 1 drops significantly that will likely be the reasons the servers are shutdown. Cause I would like to try out destiny 1 now that I am getting into the destiny universe.

I don't see how they can shut down the servers if the game is still in stores. Lol

It'll be in a retirement home. Before you know it, it'll have a slip and fall, then complications with the medicine. Next thing you know, it'll be in hospice.

D1 servers will be active for years. Probably 5 or more. Once D2 releases there will be many gamers that cannot play until Christmas. But even after that, there will still be servers to support the game. What if I buy it used? What if I never played D1, but think D2 is the best game ever? I will go buy D1 and play. So have at it, there is not rush.

1 ReplyThat's why they should put the game on ps+ or gwg, there would be more players actually playing the game bringing in revenue compared to those buying it after D2 launches.

No it won’t. I don’t think they’re going to support it after D2 but they stated servers will still be running and weekly activities will continue as usual

Probably for a while it will still be open and playable. If you think Destiny looks fun, give it a shot.

5 RepliesServers are not being shut down anytime soon. Maybe in 10 years, but not in the near future. Destiny 1 will continue to be a revenue source as newcomers to the franchise discover the game.

For now most activities pve related will stay online. However in the long i dont know. They will eventually stop supporting d1 i think.
